États-Unis, 4 novembre 2008. Alors que Barack Obama vient d’être élu Président des États-Unis, évènement historique inspirant le progrès et le changement, la Proposition 8 est votée en Californie. Pour la communauté homosexuelle le réveil est brutal. Le mariage redevient hors la loi. Le lendemain de l’élection, des manifestations spontanées éclatent à travers la Californie. Dans une atmosphère électrique c’est toute une communauté qui scande: « Gay ! Straight ! Black ! White ! Marriage is a civil right ! »

Story begins when old patriarch Moosa Meleri arrives in a quiet Kerala village with his adopted son Abu and daughter-in-law Amina. He has lost all his money in litigation. Arun (Anil Kapoor) is married to Kaajal (Raveena Tandon) and they have been trying to conceive a child for some time. After going for some tests, the doctor (Asrani) informs them that they cannot, and this is due to shortcomings from Arun. However, the doctor then secretly confesses to Arun that it is in fact Kaajal who cannot conceive, to spare her from the shame that would have followed in Indian society.

Malheureusement, le nouvel objet de désir va bientôt se marier avec un autre homme, aussi Yoshi et sa bande de queers radicaux décident que ce mariage n'a pas besoin d'avoir lieu.
