Myrna Loy has a feature role. The film is a sequel to Warner Bros.'s 1921 Why Girls Leave Home, which was a box office hit.
Synopsis
Marie Downey (Patsy Ruth Miller), a trusting country girl falls in love with a touring stage-actor, Clifford Dudley (Clive Brook) as his touring troupe takes up residence in the hotel run by Marie's father. Both lovestruck and stagestruck, Marie follows Clifford to old Broadway, where she ends up getting a job as a chorus girl. She tries desperately to get in touch with Clifford, but he acts as if he does not even know she's alive as he becomes a matinée idol on Broadway. Thanks to a lucky break, Marie becomes the star of the show in which she is appearing, whereupon Clifford finally acknowledges her existence. This time, however, she gives Clifford the cold shoulder then turns her back on New York and heads home (hence the title). Clifford follows her on the train, setting the stage for a tender reconciliation.Acteurs

After his father brings disgrace on his family, Monte joins the Spanish–American War and goes with his regiment to the Philippines. Although he has a sweetheart back home, Claire Marsh, Monte is enlisted to romance a half-caste girl, Roma, who knows the whereabouts of the Philippine leader Emilio Aguinaldo. Monte must keep up the ruse, even when Claire comes to the islands to visit him. He finally gets the information he needs, but not before he is branded a deserter and then has to prove his mettle on the battlefield. When the insurrection is squelched and Aguinaldo is captured, Monte is able to explain everything to Claire, and the couple is reunited.

Emma Thatcher est bonne dans une famille américaine aisée, les Smith. C'est elle qui s'occupe de l'éducation des trois enfants du couple. Mrs Smith, qui doit donner naissance à un autre garçon, meurt durant l'accouchement. Par sa présence d'esprit, Emma permet au nouveau-né, Ronnie, de survivre. Les années ont passé, les enfants ont grandi. Ils sont tous mariés, ou en instance de l'être. Seul Ronnie, passionné d'aviation, est devenu un pilote émérite. Emma continue à diriger toute la famille, même Frederick Smith, le père, qui s'en remet à elle pour tout. La vieille femme décide cependant de prendre quelques jours de congés après bien des années de labeur. M. Smith l'accompagne à l'aérodrome et, soudain, lui demande de partager son voyage et sa vie. Après quelques hésitations, Emma accepte. Les enfants Smith apprennent par les journaux le remariage de leur père. Mais celui-ci, au retour, est terrassé par une attaque et meurt, malgré les soins de sa nouvelle épouse. M. Haskins, le notaire, apprend à Emma que ce dernier lui a légué toute sa fortune. Les enfants déshérités se liguent contre leur ancienne nourrice, à l'exception de Ronnie. Ils l'accusent d'avoir empoisonné leur père. Emma est traînée en cour d'assises. Apprenant ce qui se passe, Ronnie, pour venir en aide à Emma, s'envole, malgré le mauvais temps, à bord de son avion, mais, pris dans une tempête de neige, l'engin s'écrase au sol.
