Arjun. It stars Vinay Rai, Bhavana Balachandran and Lekha Washington in the lead roles. Vivek and Kishore also appear.
The film revolves around an NRI Civil Engineer , who returns to Chennai from London to set up his own business. He feels that if one has to reach his goal in life it is better to win over your enemies and take them along with you. He finds out that his late father had another family, and that his step sister wants to steal his home. After clashes with his sister, he discovers another tragedy involving someone who wants to make a vendetta with the family. The film follows the sibling relationship and the threat from the avenger.
The film opened to worldwide audiences after several delays on 29 August 2008 to generally positive reviews.
Synopsis
Arjun (Vinay Rai) is an IT professional who lived in London for years, and has now come down to Chennai to start his own business. His circle of friends like Krishna (Krishna), Gopal (Vivek) and their wives, make him happy. Arjun's philosophy is to be cool and never lose one's temper, under any circumstances. Shakthivel (Bharath) is the son of a wealthy industrialist and the managing director of Rajasekar Industries. His mother Kamala is suing the company because Shakthi insulted her for having an affair with the company auditor. To add to that, the girl he loved got married to someone else. Disgusted with life, he gets up and walks aimlessly, taking a bus to the Chennai Railway Station. There he boards the Pandian Express at night without a ticket and sits in gloom. Anjali (Tamannaah) is a college student who is going to her hometown Theni for vacation. Anjali is bubbly and talkative and thoroughly irritates Shakthi. She tells him of her plans to elope with her lover Gautham. At night, Shakthi leaves the train. Anjali wakes up to find him gone. Seeing him sitting on the platform, she gets off the train to bring him back. As a result she misses the train. She tells Shakthi that it is his responsibility to take her back to the train. Annoyed, he takes her to the next station so that she can board the train and leaves her. Anjali again misses the train. While she is waiting for a taxi to reach the next station, some gangsters chase her, but she runs into Shakthi who fights them off.

The movie opens to a school where a boy recites before the school. Another boy is seen running to school as he is late. The teacher punishes him comparing to the boy who recited earlier, who is his younger step-brother. Enmity grows in the older boy as he is always compared to this younger brother. The younger brother burns the photo of the father of the older one as he was the reason for his defeat in the school's kabadi match. In retaliation, the older brother throws the younger one into a well. Watching him get drowned in the well, the older brother runs away from the village.

The story revolves around three roommates, journalist J K Boss(Arya), photographer Nagaraj(Santhanam) and Cheenu (Premji) leading an unkempt and debt-ridden life in a shoddy apartment. J K's ditsy fiancée, Madhumita, is an air hostess who agrees to deliver a package for Vladimir Dragunsky (Kim Bodnia) to Nassar, without realizing its contents or that Nassar is a gangster. Madhumita asks J K to deliver the package. JK, in turn, asks Nagaraj to do so. But Nagaraj is unable to do so as he is experiencing 'Chennai Belly'. Nagaraj hands Madhumita's package to Cheenu for delivery to Nassar, along with a package containing his stool sample for delivery to Nagaraj's doctor. Cheenu mixes up the two packages which makes Nassar furious and he starts the investigation by interrogating Vladimir.

Azhagu and Mike are thick friends and go lucky,jobless youths who just roam around doing nothing.They meet Priya in a train while trying to escape from a few goons who were chasing them for a reason. Initially they take Priya for a prostitute but later understand that she is actually a doctor. Azhagu falls for her immediately and decides that he should become an Engineer, so that he can marry Priya the Doctor. Priya is saved by Azhagu from a man who tries to kill her. Azhagu then listens to her story. Priya had a friend Kalpana,who was from a village where Priya went for a medical camp.There she learns that the people of that village are affected by potential cancer and other effects due to the Steel factory owned by Selva Vinayagam. Priya enters the company with the help of kalpana,who works there. Priya gathers proofs and talks with Selva to provide Safety equipments to the workers so that no one gets affected further. But selva denies and insults Priya, who leaves the place. Back in the factory, Kalpana operates a costly machine and unfortunately gets her hand stuck in it, resulting in huge blood loss. Priya begs the owners to dismantle the machine, so that kalpana can be saved, but the owners are reluctant and Kalpana dies as a result. Hence Priya decides to sue the company and files a case against them. The case is being heard the next day and if Priya makes it to the Court, the company will lose the case. So she is being targeted by Selva's men . How Azhagu and Mike help Priya escape the goons and Whether they help her to win the case forms the rest of the story.
