Out of True was made by the Crown Film Unit with sponsorship from the Ministry of Health, and was promoted as a "fictional account of a nervous breakdown which conforms to the pattern of much of the mental illness occurring today". The film received a nomination in the category Best Documentary Film at the 1951 British Academy Film Awards.

Synopsis
Molly Slade (Hylton) wakes up feeling extremely depressed. She has run out of tea and goes to the local shop to buy some, but finds the shop still closed. Pushed over the edge by this seemingly trivial inconvenience, she ends up attempting suicide by jumping from a bridge into the river but is saved in time. Husband Arthur (David Evans) comes home from work to find that Molly has been committed to a psychiatric hospital. Molly's treatment involves medication and electroconvulsive therapy. While in hospital she befriends fellow patient Betty (Pavlow) and together they are seen in exercise classes, playing table tennis and receiving occupational therapy. Molly leaves the hospital one night and goes home, but Arthur returns her to the hospital until she has completed her treatment and been officially released. Finally, with her treatment concluded and her mind back on an even keel, Molly is able to return to her family.Acteurs

Spencer "Spence" Scott (Johnny Nash) is a 17-year-old black high school senior who has lived his entire life in a middle-class white neighborhood of an unnamed city in the northern United States. Having been raised with a sense of self-respect, he is starting to become frustrated by the effects of racism. When his history teacher speaks ill of the intellect of black slaves during the American Civil War, he objects, and when the teacher dismisses the objection, he storms angrily out of the classroom and slips to into the bathroom to calm down by smoking a cigar. He is discovered there and is suspended from school. At the same time, his white friends are beginning to exclude him from their activities because they want to include girls, and none of the girls' parents approve of their daughters socializing in circles that include a black boy.

Michael O'Malley (Needs), rushes to his priest to tearfully inform him that he has accidentally killed his closest friend, Rachel Mathias (Parry). The story is told in flashback as Michael recounts their friendship, when he first befriended Rachel after she was bullied at school. They quickly become the best of friends. The young children decide to become "blood brothers" by pricking their fingers and rubbing the blood together. They set off for an adventure, hoping to go to London to visit the queen, but instead are picked up by a kindly elderly lady (Sybil Thorndike) who takes them to her home for tea, pretending that she is a princess and that her mansion is one of the queen's homes, but that the queen is currently away. Her amiable deception goes over perfectly, and the children have a great time visiting with her.

Sortant tardivement et à pied d'une réunion de travail, l'ingénieur Walt Sherill vocifère contre le conducteur d'une automobile conduisant dangereusement. Le conducteur en question n'admettant pas de se faire apostropher revient en arrière, cinq jeunes descendent de la voiture et passe à tabac Walt Sherill qui se retrouve à l'hôpital avec une jambe cassé. Il porte plainte auprès de l'inspecteur Koleski. L'enquête n'avance pas et Walt et Koleski munis des rares éléments dont ils disposent s'en vont inspecter les lycées environnants. Ils ne trouvent rien mais l'un des agresseurs les remarque. Le groupe menace alors Tracey, la femme de Sherill. L'enquête avance très lentement mais quand on demande aux époux Sherill d'identifier des jeunes gens sur des photos, Tracey reconnait l'employé du droguiste. Walt cherche à le rencontrer, mais quand il parvient dans sa chambre, le jeune homme s'est pendu. Un détective privé a réussi à retrouver deux des membres du groupe, il les prend en filature, mais meurt dans un virage mal négocié, Walt et Koleski tentent de les rejoindre à leur tour, mais sont trop loin. Dans la voiture des jeunes, Chuck ordonne à ses complices de descendre et s'en va chez les Sherill, il menace Tracey et veut la violer, mais entendant les sirènes de police il rentre chez sa mère. Walt le rejoint le tabasse et va pour le noyer dans sa piscine, finalement il le remet vivant entre les mains de Koleski.

A group of boys, evacuated during World War II from London to a coastal town, form a gang and play war games. Too young to fight in the war and afraid it will be over by the time they come of age, the group members, who are also in the school's Army Cadet Force initiate a battle with the local teenagers. Curlew, a local youth, invites an Austrian Jewish refugee with whom he has formed a close relationship to take part in the shenanigans. At first the Jewish boy, Stein, is scorned because of his "Germanic" heritage but is later allowed to join. When Stein runs off during a fight, the youths decide to give him a fake court-martial and execution, but real bullets are used by a freak mistake and Stein is killed.

Le film se déroule durant la seconde guerre mondiale en 1943, sur une base aérienne de bombardiers Boeing B-17 en Angleterre. Le capitaine Buzz Rickson (Steve McQueen) est un pilote arrogant. Quand une mission de bombardement sur les abris de sous-marins de Kiel est abandonnée en raison des nuages qui recouvrent les objectifs, Rickson ignore l'ordre de faire demi-tour, plonge sous les nuages et accomplit la mission. Mais il en résulte la perte d'un bombardier du groupe et de tout son équipage. Rickson s'épanouit dans les combats et la destruction qui lui apportent une aura qu'il n'a jamais connue en temps de paix. Après une mission de largage de tracts de propagande, il exprime son mécontentement par des passages en rase-motte sur l'aérodrome au retour de la mission. Son commandant tolère ses insubordinations répétées parce qu'il est le meilleur pilote du groupe de bombardiers. Les reconnaissances ont par exemple montré que lors de la mission sur Kiel le groupe de Rickson a effectivement détruit ses objectifs. Même si le médecin de la base hésite à qualifier Rickson de héros ou de psychopathe. Cependant, l'équipage de Rickson lui fait toute confiance à cause de son expérience, et notamment son copilote le Lieutenant Ed Bolland (Robert Wagner).

In the 1840s, an American sailor ashore in Liverpool is wrongly convicted and sent to the penal colony in Sydney, Australia where he enters into a battle of wills with the Governor.
