Gokarna is a 2003 Kannada film starring Superstar Upendra and Rakshita. The film was directed by Naganna and was Upendra's home production, made under his banner of Anegudda Vinayaka Productions. Music for the film was scored by Gurukiran. It is the second among a series of successful films under Upendra - Naganna combination. The film also starred Madhu Bangarappa, Tennis Krishna, S.Ramesh, Satyajit, Dr.Nagesh, and Indhudhar in supporting roles. The film is a remake of the 1992 Tamil film Annamalai starring Rajinikanth, which in turn was a remake of Rakesh Roshan's Hindi movie Khudgarz. The film was followed by yet another successful film under Upendra - Naganna combination, Gowramma in 2005.

Ganesh (Ganesh) is the adopted younger brother of Devaraj. When Devaraj loses his right hand in an accident, Ganesh at a young age takes responsibility of his family. Rudra (Upendra) is an orphan. He grows up in the graveyard. He is very innocent by nature but has a lot of strength like a demon. One day he goes into the village. But the people shun him and ask him to return to the graveyard. But a village girl Parvathi (Sanghavi) befriend him and helps him out. The village chief ( Ramaraju) and a drug peddler use Rudra to peddle drugs. Rudra is caught in a drug peddling case and is put into prison. At this time Sathya (Darshan) joins him in jail after being framed in a false case. Sathya and Rudra become very close friends and share a special bond with each other. Sathya helps Rudra with a lot of things but is unfortunately murdered by the village chief and the drug peddler and they implicate Rudra in the murder case. This enrages Rudra and he takes on the evil men and avenges Sathya's death. After that he goes back to his home - the graveyard.

Parasuram (Raja) is a self-employed youth with a difference. He does justice to the wrongdoers by charging SET (Self Employment Tax). Neelakanta (Upendra) is an anti-social element who is very fond of his blind sister Naina (Priyamani). They share a dark past. Nayak (Suman), the local police chief, appoints Parasuram as undercover cop to recover 10 crore money stolen by Neelakanta. Parasuram gets hold of Neelakanta's blind sister and makes her fall in love with him. The rest of the story is all about the conflict between Parasuram and Neelakanta.

The film begins with three separate teams accusing the same man of marrying one among them and making off with all their wealth. The police term it the Manmatha Raja case, and it receives wide media coverage. A man's likeness is also broadcast. Upon seeing that, two more girls realise that they have also been cheated by the same man, but are unwilling to believe it. On a separate track, Panchamruta aka Panche (Upendra) is travelling in a bus. The bus meets with an accident and Panche is admitted to the hospital. A policeman ties Panche's face to that of the accused in the Manmatha Raja case and Panche is arrested. Panche's case receives widespread attention, and it finally comes before the judge (Lakshmi). The judge's daughter Pooja (Pooja Gandhi), a law student who's one of the girls cheated by Manmatha, obtains permission to watch the proceedings.
