Avathara Purushan is a 1996 Tamil drama film directed by Pandiyan Arivali. The film features Ranjith, Anand and Sivaranjani in lead roles, with Goundamani, Senthil, Vivek, Veerapandiyan, Thalaivasal Vijay and Kavitha and Karikalan playing supporting roles. The film, produced by A. Jagannanthan and Kasthuri Ananth, had musical score by Deva and was released on 28 June 1996.
Synopsis
Anand (Anand) and Vaishali (Sivaranjani) are college students. Anand falls in love with Vaishali at first sight. When Anand reveals her his love, Vaishali rejects it and she ridicules him. Since that day, he follows her everywhere to tease her. She then complains to the police. Soon, Vaishali becomes pregnant and hides the father's name to her parents. Feeling ashamed about her pregnancy, her family moves to Ooty.Acteurs

The story begins with the minister Deivanayagam (R. P. Viswam) and his son who debated. Deivanayagam's son came with his wife Malathi (Rekha) and new-born daughter Devi, he believed that his father changed. Kai Ezhuthu Gounder (Manivannan) and Kai Naattu Gounder (K. Prabakaran) are the village's bigwig and best friends. While their children Raja (Arun Vijay) and Indhu (Kirthika) hate each other, they are classmates and quarrel continually. In contrast, their fathers want to marry them. Sorna (Rajashree), a dancer, comes to their village to separate the thick friends. Finally, Raja and Kirthika fall in love with each other. Sorna seduces the thick friends and create a conflict between them. In the past, Kai Ezhuthu Gounder and Kai Naattu Gounder tries to rape Sorna's sister and before it she committed suicide. Since that day, Sorna wanted to take revenge. Raja and Indhu are distraught, Sorna only wanted to punish Kai Ezhuthu Gounder and Kai Naattu Gounder but not the young lovers, so she comes to their rescue. What transpires later forms the crux of the story.

Sridhar (Tarun) is a final year degree student and gets selected in the campus selections for studies abroad. He goes to Mumbai for an interview and in his return finds Preeti (Trisha) and loses his heart to her. Sridhar comes to know that Preeti was about to join in degree and Preeti learns that he was a final year degree student. Sridhar is an ardent cricket fan, so is Preeti, while Sridhar is also a good football player. The principal of the college appoints a coach called Reshma (Shriya), who is also a student, for the football team led by Sridhar. Sridhar tries his best to trace Preeti by visiting several women's colleges, while Preeti also watches for Sridhar at the men's college. Accidentally, Preeti helps Sridhar's mother, when she had a heart attack. In order to find Preeti at any cost, Sridhar goes to the LB Stadium, where a cricket match is in progress and gets injuries in a bomb blast in the stadium. Just before the blast, both Preeti and Sridhar find each other but could not meet due to the blast.
