Near West Coast Studios in Hollywood, the gang is waging a street war against a rival group of kids; their ammunition primarily consisting of old vegetables. The battle is halted when Mary is called to act in one of the West Coast films. The rest of the gang tries to crash the studio gates and get a role in the picture, but the casting director throws them out. Farina manages to sneak into the studio, however, prompting the other kids to sneak in after her. Several chases throughout the property then ensue and the gang eventually escapes - with a little help from Harold Lloyd.

Mickey is in the hospital to have his tonsils removed. The gang decide to visit him, and end up causing all sorts of disasters. They manage to work their way into both the x-ray and operating rooms, and become subdued after inhaling some powerful laughing gas. The kids want to get in on the free ice cream given to patients getting their tonsils removed, and decide to switch places with some boys headed to the hospital. But the doctors catch onto the gang's scheme, and a chase through the hospital ensues.

The plot revolves around the gang swapping places with a group of runaway boys who are supposed to be taken by train back to San Francisco. While aboard the train, the gang wreaks havoc for the other passengers. Jackie Condon rescues his dog, T-Bone, from the baggage compartment and this causes considerable disturbance with the conductor. He later changes clothes with a little girl, played by Mary Kornman, and they both get spankings by the adults. A traveling salesman volunteers to entertain the children with his noisemakers and fireworks. The gang then parade up and down the train with whistles and kazoos. They set off the fireworks, release sneezing powder (a gag repeated later in the 1930 short Teacher's Pet), pass around other practical jokes and mayhem results. When they finally arrive at San Francisco, the child care worker receives a telegram informing him that he has the wrong children and must take them back.

Harold vient à Los Angeles pour faire fortune, il survit grâce à de petits boulots. Il a menti à sa fiancée sur sa situation financière réelle, et, lorsque celle-ci vient le rejoindre en ville, il est dans l'impossibilité de la recevoir dignement mais parvient à le cacher en se faisant passer pour le directeur du magasin où il travaille. Afin de toucher l'argent dont il a besoin pour se marier, il propose à son directeur une opération de promotion pour laquelle il pense utiliser les talents d'un ami capable d'escalader des immeubles. Mais à cause d'un policier, l'ami ne peut tenir son engagement et Harold doit se lancer dans l'ascension de l'immeuble du magasin devant les badauds rassemblés dans la rue, en s'aidant uniquement des aspérités du décor. À chaque étage, Harold espère être enfin remplacé par son ami qui est obligé de lui donner rendez-vous à l'étage supérieur. Quelques étages avant d'atteindre le sommet, Harold trébuche sur une corniche et se raccroche aux aiguilles de l'horloge. Arrivé sur la dernière corniche, il est assommé par un anémomètre, il tombe, le pied raccroché à une corde. Mais il s'en sortira et fera honneur à sa fiancée.
