Five by Four is a 2003 Indian film written and directed by Roopa Swaninathan. It stars VJs Cary Edwards, Sapna and Usha Seetharam, television artistes Venkat, Preetha Raaghav and Divyadarshini and popular Kannada model Hardeep Minhas. The music was by Yuvan Shankar Raja and cinematography by Ravi Varman. The film in English was produced by the National Film Development Corporation of India (NFDC). It did not get a theatrical release, but was screened at the Shanghai International Film Festival, the Writers market at Santa Monica, and other venues.

Trois ermites aînés, Charlie (Gilbert Sicotte), Tom (Rémy Girard) et Boychuck (Kenneth Welsh), vivent dans la forêt de l'abitibienne, isolés du reste du monde. Après la mort de l'ermite aîné, Boychuck, peintre à ses heures, les deux hommes font une découverte étonnante : des centaines de peintures faisant écho à sa tragique expérience liée à des incendies de forêt qui menacent la région. Aux funérailles de leur compagnon, les deux hommes font la rencontre de Gertrude (Andrée Lachapelle), qui fut internée à l'âge de 16 ans pour des motifs religieux. Gertrude veut fuir la clinique médicale et aboutit chez Charlie et Tom qui se rebutent au début ; nouvelle vie, nouvelle identité, Gertrude devient Marie-Desneige. S'en suit un idylle amoureuse touchante et lumineuse.

Short Eyes is set in an unnamed prison in New York City, whose inmates are predominantly black or Puerto Rican. One day, Clark Davis, a young, middle-class white man accused of raping a young girl, arrive. His fellow prisoners immediately turn on him — pedophiles are considered the lowest form of prison life — except for Juan, one of the institution's older prisoners, who treats him with dignity. While Davis insists he doesn't remember raping the girl, he admits that he has molested several other children.
