Fighting Death is a lost 1914 silent film adventure drama directed by Herbert Blaché and starring early stunt performer Rodman Law and Claire Whitney. It was produced by the historic Solax Film Company.

Some filming involving stuntman Law took place at the Williamsburg Bridge.

The opening scene is of the interior of the Malamute saloon. Dangerous Dan McGrew and the lady that's known as Lou are seen seated at a table in one corner. A dog-sleigh stops outside, and its owner, a tired-looking, bedraggled miner, stumbles through the door. After treating the house, he sits down at the piano and begins to play. Into the soulful, stirring music he pours his pent up feelings of hatred, sorrow, love and regret. Years before, Jim Maxwell's best friend, Dan McGrew, had deceived his wife into believing him unfaithful. Their elopement completely unnerved him for a time. But finally he resolved to forget about it, until he next met Dan McGrew. Years afterwards, while prospecting, he met his daughter, now grown to womanhood and married. Her husband had been arrested for a murder committed by McGrew, and Maxwell assisted in effecting his escape. Just previous to the miner's entrance, Nell's husband had been captured in the saloon by the sheriff. As Maxwell finishes playing, he turns about, faces Dangerous Dan McGrew, and tells him, in uncomplimentary language, what he thinks of a man of his type. The lights go out, two guns blaze in the dark, and both men fall. Maxwell recovers and is reunited to Lou, his wife. McGrew dies.

As described in a film magazine, Betsy O'Hara (Barrymore) marries Lord Frederick Berolles (Ratcliffe) to please her parents, and while now is Lady Frederick, she finds herself miserable when her husband constantly insults her after discovering that she loves another. It does not help that Sir Paradise Fuldes (Herbert), the man she would have married except for his poverty, soon thereafter comes into a fortune. Her sister Kitty (Childers), while married to a man of position, has foolishly compromised herself with Robert Montgomery (Kilgour), a cad who forces her to visit his rooms on threat of disclosure. While assisting her sister in the recovery of some old love letters, she is surprised in the apartments of Montgomery, and assumes the situation to save her sister's reputation. She is then divorced, and sinks in the social scale. Lord Charles Mereston (Entwistle) meets her while gambling in Monte Carlo and falls in love with her. Lady Frederick does not encourage him, but he will not take no for an answer. His wife Lady Mereston (Gordon) appeals to her brother Sir Paradise to intervene, and while Lady Frederick resents the interference, she sends Mereston about his business using an ingenious device, and finds her reward in the arms of Paradise.

Lorsque la danseuse Florence Maddis se marie avec Ross Van Beekman, le fils d'une famille aristocratique de New York, ses amis lui prédisent un mariage malheureux, mais elle s'emploie à s'intégrer à sa nouvelle famille et ne veut pas retourner à Broadway. Sa belle-mère désapprouve néanmoins cette union et, sous l'influence de Ned Ormsby, un ancien admirateur de Flo, s'arrange pour faire croire à Ross qu'elle est volage. Croyant qu'elle sort avec Ormsby, Ross tire un coup de feu dans la penderie. Lorsqu'Ormsby est trouvé mort, Ross se dénonce, croyant être le coupable. Ross est libéré lorsque Maddox, un ennemi d'Ormsby, confesse être responsable du crime. Flo est alors réunie avec Ross et sa famille.
