Biographie

Leela was born in the village of Pannicode, Kozhikode district to Kizhakkethodi Raman Nair and Rukmini Amma. She has a brother, late Unnikrishnan. Her father died when she was studying in primary school.

Leela married twice. She had two sons from her first marriage, of whom the elder son Radhakrishnan died in a road accident and the younger son Ramakrishnan died due to illness. Her first husband, Krishna Kumar also died soon after the premature death of their children.

Kulappulli Leela lives with her mother and second husband, Bhuvanachandran at her own house in Paravoor, Ernakulam district..
