Indrans is a Malayalam film actor and costume designer. He acts mainly in comedy roles. He has acted in over 250 films.
Indrans, a tailor by profession, debuted in the film Choothattam as a costume designer and as an actor. It was producer Charlie who offered him a chance to assist in costume designing. Although he had the opportunity to meet many filmmakers, including evergreen hero Prem Nazir, Sattar, Pappu, Jose Prakash and Jayabharathi, he concentrated only on designing costumes for several years in the industry. However, he did very small roles on screen.
Soon, Indrans started getting fresh assignments from well-known directors like Padmarajan, Venu Nagavally, Shaji N. Karun, Sibi Malayil and K. Madhu. CID Unni Krishnan was a turning point in his career as an actor. His brand of comedy clicked among the audiences and he went on to become one of the mainstream comedians in Kerala. Since then, he is busy till date.
Indrans had acted in more than 200 films so far. As a comedy actor he has made most use of his slender, lean figure and typical accent to win over the audiences. He created his own style in cinema and never replicated the comedy of the legendary Adoor Bhasi, Bahadoor, Jagathi Sreekumar or Innocent. Renowned directors Adoor Gopalakrishnan and T.V. Chandran too offered him roles.
He is married to Santhakumari on 23 February 1985 . They have a daughter Mahitha and a son Mahendran. Mahitha is a dentist by profession, married to Sriraj a Professor and they have a son Sreehari. Mahendran has completed his M.B.A.

Biographie
Indrans is born as Surendran as second among seven childen to Palavila Kochuvelu and Gomathi at Kumarapuram, Thiruvananthapuram on 1951. He has three sisters, Bindu, Rema, Raji and two brothers, Ravi and Balan. He studied at Government Higher Secondary school, Kumarapuram till fourth grade. Then he joined with his uncle to do tailoring. He joined amateur arts clubs and started performing dramas. He started a tailoring shop with the name Indrans. He used that name as his stage name when he started acting in movies. He debuted into movie industry as costume designer and later started acting. His cousin Indrans Jayan is a National award winning costume designer.He is married to Santhakumari on 23 February 1985 . They have a daughter Mahitha and a son Mahendran. Mahitha is a dentist by profession, married to Sriraj a Professor and they have a son Sreehari. Mahendran has completed his M.B.A.

It is a hundred years since Charlie Chaplin, artist nonpareil, appeared on the silver screen mesmerising audiences across the globe. His signature moustache and derby that have left their indelible imprint on the annals of film history. Buddhanum Chaplinum Chirikkunnu is a film that pays homage to Chaplin at the centennial commemoration of his acting career. The film portrays an Indian comedian, Indragupthan, who idolises Chaplin. He believes his life resembles Chaplin's and nurtures the desire to depict his hero on the big screen. However, he rules out a blind imitation of the late legend. The narrative revolves around his disintegrating family life and his quest for true love. The dilemma that ensues is the crux of the story. In the struggle to discover himself Indragupthan is entrapped in a world of make belief. The film is a unique marriage of the serious and the comic - one complementing the other. Indragupthan realises finally that the wheel of life has left him stranded in the twilight zone between real and unreal.

Kunjiraman (Vineeth Sreenivasan), nephew of Well-done Vasu(Mamukkoya), plans to marry his daughter Thankamani. All plans are thwarted by his dim-witted cousin brother Laalu (Dhyan Sreenivasan). To avenge this he goes to Gulf to make money and returns to his hometown Desam. He plans to marry well and before that of Vasu's daughter wedding. Laalu (Dhyan Sreenivasan) secretly plots against Kunjiraman with Kuttan (Aju Varghese), his role model. Kunjiraman gets engaged to other women but all end up in cancellations. Villagers superstitiously believe that it was Kunjiraman's actions that brings the subsequent problems and curses to Desam. Later the issues are solved by a chain of events. Both Laalu and Kuttan are left to the short end of stick with their plotting's.

Police constables Balagopal (Sreejith Ravi) and Jolly Kurien (Joju George) have been at odds for years but are under orders to transfer two prisoners from Kannur to Trivandrum. They board the Parasuram express with the handcuffed inmates. While at the Kayamkulam station, prisoner Nandu (Vineeth Sreenivasan) escapes. The two officers get off the train at the next stop with second inmate Maran (Chemban Vinod Jose) and frantically searches for Nandu. The three unlikely musketeers finds the back-story of Nandu. Nandu's father, Narayanan (Nedumudi Venu) always have a wrongful intention to his step-sister, Lakshmi (Nikki Galrani). Nandu, one day determines to kill his father for the same, but the trap he set accidentally killed his mother. He was arrested for his mother's murder. One day his Narayanan comes to visit him at jail and reveals his true intentions for his step-sister. Nandu determines to escape at any possible opportunities. The three musketeers finds Nandu while roughing with Narayanan, both with the intention to kill. Accidentally Jolly Kurien kills Nandu's father. With knowing Narayanan's story, Maran devises a plan to not let the issue known to others, to which everyone agrees. Narayanan's body is buried in a nearby church cemetery at that night itself. In the end of the day everyone is shown as happy in their karmic lives.

The story revolves around a widowed father and son working as scavengers and the harsh life they face. The duo belongs to a section of society who are marginalized in the mainstream.
