Johan Jacobsen est un réalisateur danois né le 14 mars 1912 et mort le 7 juillet 1972.

Biographie

Les parents de Johan Jacobsen sont Jacob Jørgen Jacobsen (1865-1955), un agent artistique, et Christel Holch (1886-1968), une actrice. Lors de ses études secondaires, Johan Jacobsen bénéficie d'un programme d'échanges pour effectuer un séjour en Amérique. Il travaille ensuite comme assistant chez First National et Warner Bros., dirigé par John Olsen. À partir de 1932, il travaille à la traduction de films américains, anglais et français à la société de distribution Teatrenes Films-Kontor.

Il assiste Lau Lauritzen sur le tournage de la comédie Med fuld musik à la société cinématographique Palladium en 1933. Il est assistant et monteur sur 5 raske piger (1933) et 7-9-13 (1934) de Anders Sandberg.

Il est membre du jury présidé par Robert Aldrich à la Berlinale 1959.

Au cours des dernières années, il a écrit des romans publiés par les magazines hebdomadaires.

À partir de 1971 et jusqu'à sa mort, il est directeur général du Bremen Teater de Simon Spies de Copenhague.

Two common working-class people, Robert and Jenny, meet one day in a bar. After Robert defends Jenny against her date, a district attorney's chauffeur, who is trying to get her drunk, they begin a relationship. She soon discovers that she will be tried in court for an abortion she needed a few years previously. Her parents disown her and she loses her job as a saleswoman. Robert stays with her, admitting his own responsibility for killing someone when he was 17 years old. Distraught at the thought of going to prison, Jenny convinces Robert to commit suicide with her. Just as she is planning the suicide, her lawyer comes and announces that the case has been dropped—the case had been delayed too long while the district attorney was in the hospital after his chauffeur has caused an automobile accident.

Børge Rasmussen is in love with Elvie Hansen. During a visit at doctor Kermer's, Børge steals a small fortune in cash. Together with Elvie, he runs off to Copenhagen. On their way there, Elvie breaks up. In Copenhagen, the saboteur Verner seeks out Børge, convincing him to go to Canada, bringing a briefcase for a friend of Verner's. Børges friend, Marinus, finds out that there is a bomb in the briefcase, but on his way to warn Børge, Marinus is murdered. Before dying, though, he manages to tell doctor Kermer about the bomb. Together with Elvie, Kermer now leaves for Copenhagen to save Børge.
