The story follows John Belushi, shortly after his death from a drug overdose in March 1982, as he awakens in a morgue and is about to undergo an autopsy. Panicked, Belushi escapes and finds himself in the company of the enigmatic Angel Velasquez (Ray Sharkey), a Puerto Rican cabbie who takes Belushi to significant moments in his life from the beginning of his career to the courtship of his wife, Judith (Lucinda Jenney), into his burgeoning comedy career, his friendship with Dan Aykroyd (Gary Groomes) and his eventual decline. The film alternates between Belushi as a ghost and his journey with Velasquez to flashbacks (in non-linear style) as his career gains momentum. Meanwhile, journalist Bob Woodward (J. T. Walsh) is researching Belushi's life as he prepares to write a book about the late comic actor. Woodward's investigation leads him to Cathy Smith (Patti D'Arbanville), who procured drugs for Belushi, and the story climaxes with Woodward directly conversing with Belushi during the actor's dying moments.

Devant la progression alarmante des toxicomanes parmi la jeunesse, Derek Carpenter, un agent de la CIA, est envoyé au Pérou par la section anti-droguesavec pour mission de détruire la plaque tournante secrète où convergent toutes les récoltes d'opium des plateaux andins. Dans l'avion qui le mène en Amérique Latine, Carpenter sympathise avec Linda Montana, la fille de Don Luis qui n'est autre que sa cible, soit le chef tout puissant d'un réseau de trafiquants de stupéfiants. Ce dernier explique à Linda que son exportation de drogues vers les États-Unis est un acte de vengeance contre les Américains. Selon lui, ancien guérillero communiste, ils sont responsables de la mort de sa femme dans un attentat perpétré contre Che Guevara. Pour le nuire, Derek est prêt à tout mais Linda est partagée entre venger sa mère contre les Américains ou soutenir Derek dans sa mission.

After his best friend Mike dies of a drug overdose, San Fernando Valley businessman Jack Magnus spirals into depression and drug addiction, losing his job, getting a severe infection on his left arm, and becoming homeless, forcing him to live in the warehouse where he works as a security guard. One night, a pair of dealers Jack owes money to break into the warehouse, and decide that since Jack does not have any money, to rob the building, and kill Jack by injecting him with a mixture of PCP, heroin, and crystal meth. Instead of killing Jack, the cocktail of drugs causes him to have a psychotic break, and drilled by paranoid delusions and a hallucination of Mike, he kills the dealers with an electrical jackhammer that was among the tools in the warehouse machine shop.

Picking up where the last film ended, Death Nurse 2 opens with Lieutenant Cal Bedowski demanding to be let into to Shady Palms Clinic, due to having just discovered human remains in the facility's garage. Nurse Edith Mortley opens the door, stabs the lieutenant, and has her brother, Doctor Gordon Mortley, place the man's body in the garage. Edith then explains that disposing of corpses in the garage is the perfect system, as they will be eaten by the rats that infest it, and the rats will then be killed and fed to unknowing patients of the Mortleys.
