Synopsis
Oncle Antonio et oncle Peppino sont des propriétaires terriens aux alentours de Naples. Ce sont des gens simples partout connus comme les frères Caponi. Le fils de leur sœur Lucia, Gianni, étudiant en médecine à l'Université de Naples, tombe amoureux d'une ballerine et actrice de théâtre. Quand celle-ci doit déménager à Milan pour son travail, il la suit à l'insu de sa famille. Seul Mezzacapa, le voisin des Caponi, est au courant et prévient sa famille. Totò, Peppino et Lucia partent donc à Milan pour trouver Gianni et le convaincre de quitter l'actrice pour mieux continuer ses études.Acteurs

Province of Rome, the early postwar years. Antonio, an unemployed middle-aged, married a rich woman, Teresa, who bullies: he lives in the countryside with his wife and daughter Valeria with the earnest and always without a penny in his pocket. Valeria makes the acquaintance of Albert, a young journalist, came to the country with the purpose of approaching and interviewing the bandit Ignatius said, "The Press", feared throughout the region for its daring enterprises. With the complicity of Peppino, the barber of the country, Toto pretends to his wife that he had been kidnapped by Ignatius and thus induces Teresa stingy to pay five million for his ransom. Valeria and Alberto, now engaged, hatched a plan to rescue Toto, going by Ignatius in his den and calling for freedom of Toto in exchange for an interview that will make the famous bandit. Ignatius accepts and Toto back home. After the wedding of Valeria and Alberto, Teresa's husband out of the house, warning him not to come back until you have made a stand. Toto, who has never worked, is reduced to make the "boy" in the workshop of Peppino.

Le commandeur Bruscatelli, avant d'être mis en prison, laisse aux cousins Posalaquaglia une lettre de change qu'ils donnent à Temistocle Bisogni en compensation des dégâts qu'ils ont commis dans son bureau de tabac. In 1961, Antonio La Puzza emigrated from Acerra for lack of money in Berlin then divided between Western and Soviet searching for Giuseppe "Peppino" Pagliuca (a Neapolitan "magliaro" who emigrated to Germany years earlier). There he meets two guys, including the daughter of Admiral Attila Canarinis (former Nazi military very much like La Puzza) that, instead of helping the recruit to the tune of 20 million lire: the poor accept Antonio La Puzza and pretends the Admiral, and in the court of the U.S. base to be found innocent, even if not immediately believed, so the Americans release spiandolo in his every move.
