It is about a shy, timid, and introverted Sivasubrahmania Hariramachandran (Sukumaran) who falls head over heels for the petite and spunky Saritha (Madhavi), regardless of an age difference of 14 years. The film was the directional debut of Sathyan Anthikad. It was written by Dr. P. Balakrishnan.

Synopsis
Sivasubrahmania is 32 year-old, simple but shy man who still hasn't got over a rejection from his childhood, and is an unhappy bachelor.Desperate to break away from an overbearing and spiritually inclined father, he escapes to another town along with his best friend Kumar. He falls in love with Saritha, their new neighbor, 14 years junior than him. Saritha also happens to be his boss's daughter's best friend, who also stays in the same building.Acteurs

Unni (Nedumudi Venu) and Sethu (Sukumaran) are two bachelor friends staying together in Chennai. Though irritating at sometimes, with his music talents, the house owner Varma (Jagathi Sreekumar), a music director is always ready to financially support them at times. One day, Unni gets a letter from his father, asking him to receive Radha (Poornima Jayaram), daughter of his friend who will be arriving at Chennai to join at a company for a job. At railway station, both Unni and Sethu fall for her and both try all methods to woo her. Radha is accommodated at the house of Mary (Sukumari), a colleague of theirs, who is also a sister-like figure for them. As she approached late after the joining date, Radha is denied the job. Sethu introduces her to V.N Nair (Sankaradi), his manager, also a womanizer and gets her a job at his company. This creates a friction in the friendship between Unni and Sethu. Both, but fails to express their feelings to her, instead fight each other bitterly over issues, leading even to physically attacking each other. One day Radha introduces them to Balachandran (Mammootty), whom she addresses as her fiancé and asks them both to attend her wedding without fail. Realizing their foolishness, Sethu and Unni patches up and reaches back home happily. But at home, Sethu gets a letter from his father informing the arrival of daughter of one of his friend in Chennai. As both rushes to railway station to pick her up, the cards starts rolling.

Kumaran (Thilakan) is a social worker. Captain Vijay (Mohanlal) is an army captain who is on his annual leave and has come to stay with his maternal uncle who raised him and his sister after the untimely death of their parents. In a turn of events Vijay sees Kumaran injured from an accident and crying for help. He takes Kumaran to a hospital but could not save his life. There develops a strong bond between Kumaran and Vijay which pulls him into finding out the accident was a preplanned murder.

Vinayan comes from a rich family but he cannot stand up for modern lifestyle. His brother spends time dancing at clubs, his sister always listens to the radio, and his parents are always busy. He gets tired of life in the city and moves to a village taking a small job as a village officer. Bhaskaran(Sreenivasan), the local village goldsmith is in love with Snehalatha(Urvashi), the daughter of P.V.Panicker(Innocent), the local astrologer. They are neighbors. Snehalatha asks for a gold necklace made of 10 pavans (sovereigns) as a symbol of Bhaskaran's love. Bhaskaran makes a necklace and hands it over to Snehalatha. An angry Panicker (her father) finds this out, admonishes her and pockets the golden necklace. He reasons that it was "brotherly love" which made Bhaskaran give the necklace to his daughter.

This leads the young politician in despair. During this time the girl Irene Gardner visits kerala to shoot a documentary. she is in search of an assistant to help her in shoot the film and approaches Uthup. Uthup requests Sidharthan to meet her and assist her. Sidharthan unwillingly went but when Irene promises ₹2000 per day for the assistant, so Siddharthan, who has financial issues, agrees to help her.
