Sudha Rani is an Indian actress in Kannada film industry. She has featured in several commercial and critically acclaimed films in Kannada, Malayalam, Telugu and Tamil.

Some of her notable films include Anand (1986), Panchama Veda (1989), Mysooru Mallige (1992), Mannina Doni (1992), Anuraga Sangama (1995) and Sparsha (2000) among others.
She has so far twice won the Filmfare Awards and Karnataka State Film Awards for her performances.

Biographie

She got married to an U.S. based Doctor, Sanjay, an anesthesia specialist, in the year 1995 and settled in United States. She returned to India after her divorce in 2000. Later she married her relative, Goverdhan. She has a daughter, Nidhi from her Second marriage, born in the year 2001.

Bharathi has come to Bengaluru after nine years with her husband, Sharath. She had promised her father that she would repay his dues to Mr Govinda Shetty. Only then did her father die in peace. Mr Govinda Shetty inherited the small grocery shop, “Bharath Stores” and was carrying on the family business with pride and such elan that the bus stop in front was named after it as ”Bharath stores stop” After alighting near that stop, she was surprised to find no trace of it anywhere there. The queries to that effect went in vain.

Preetham is the only son of a wealthy but superstitious real estate dealer (Rangayana Raghu). His close friend is Venkatesh (Sharan). The movie is a contemporary take on the life of a couple and their journey through time and how they have to fight the eternal battle of good over evil and how they win with support from a set of dear friends. The protagonist of the film is Sawanth (acted by Ramesh Aravind), a radio jockey. His wife is a teacher and a social worker. On returning from a three week foreign trip, he is shocked to discover that his wife and her co-worker had died in an accident. Sawanth cannot convince himself this is merely an accident and commences an investigation. It is one of the most critically acclaimed films of the decade in Kannada cinema.
