Chus Guttiérez, née en 1962 à Grenade, est une réalisatrice de cinéma et membre du groupe pop Xoxonees.
Elle travaille dans l’audiovisuel depuis l’âge de 18 ans et étudie le cinéma à New York. Elle réalise plusieurs courts-métrages comme Porro on the Roof, Snickers on Fire, Tropicana, Merry Go Round et La Cinta Dorada.
De retour des USA, Chus Guttiérez rentre à Madrid en 1987 et se lance dans un groupe de musique pop appelé Xoxonees.
Elle réalise ensuite son premier long-métrage, Sublet, un deuxième en 1994 intitulé Sexo oral.

Le film raconte l'histoire de Pilar et Antonio, un couple qui vit dans une banlieue résidentielle de Tolède. Pourtant, Pilar vit un enfer quotidien : elle est victime de violences conjugales. Elle fuit en pleine nuit de son domicile en emmenant avec elle son fils de huit ans. Elle se réfugie chez sa sœur, Ana, une restauratrice d'art qui vit dans le centre historique de Tolède. Elle essaie de refaire sa vie en tenant la caisse des visites touristiques d'une église. Son mari, Antonio, veut la reconquérir. Il lui promet de changer et pour ce faire, recherche de l'aide auprès d'un psychologue.

At the beginning of this decade the bodies of eleven young Moroccan immigrants who were trying to cross the Straight appeared on the beaches of Rota. From their clothes, it was discovered that they all came from the same village, Hansala. The film tries to portray that event through the eyes of Martín, a funeral parlor owner who tries to make money on their deaths, and Leila, the sister of one of the dead boys. Together, they adventure into trying to repatriate the boy’s body by van and live an intense moral experience that will lead them to question their beliefs.
