Love Child (Spanish: La hija natural) is a 2011 Dominican Republic drama film written and directed by Leticia Tonos. The film was selected as the Dominican Republic entry for the Best Foreign Language Film at the 84th Academy Awards, but it did not make the final shortlist.

Synopsis

Maria, 18 ans, fille d'une mère célibataire, décide de chercher son père qu'elle n'a jamais rencontré après la mort de sa mère dans un tragique accident. Elle le trouve finalement dans une ville voisine, vivant dans ce qui semble être une maison de campagne hantée au milieu d'une plantation de banane négligé. Parmi les superstitions de la campagne dominicaine, père et fille devront affronter leurs propres fantômes du passé.

The movie begins with Jai(Prabhas) practicing guitar when a girl runs to him and asks him to save her from a gang of goons chasing her. Then Jay, without fighting, resolves the conflict. The girl introduces herself as Manasa (Richa Gangopadhyay). They slowly become friends. But one day she asks Jai to leave her and go as she cannot stand the separation from him if their relationship develops any further. He then goes back to India and changes the mind of Manasa's brother and when they give a vacation he goes with him to his village. There, where everyone are conservative in nature, he changes their nature and makes them more lovable.

In a remote village called Seokjeongni, the residents manage to learn that North Korean troops have invaded the South via the chief’s radio. The film tells the story of Jenny, a British teenager, who has left home for the first time and is going to college in Paris in the early 1960s. Soon she is smitten by a local Parisian.
