Raj Mehra (Hindi: राज मेहरा) was a character actor in Bollywood Films, especially known for his role as a father of leading actors. During his career, he worked in over 170 Hindi films. Some of his popular roles are those of the father of Raj Kapoor in Sharda and Police Superintendent in Jis Desh Men Ganga Behti Hai.

Orphaned at a very young age, Varsha Oberoi, lives a wealthy lifestyle with her paternal uncle, Jain Oberoi, in Bombay, and has traveled world-wide. She is in love with Vijay, a middle-classed young man, who runs a small furniture store, badly in debt, and lives with his widowed mom, a younger brother, Deepu, and sister, Nanhi, who are very friendly with Varsha. Then Vijay is reunited with his childhood friend, Vikram Chawla, who is welcomed with open arms by the entire family. It is then Vijay's life turns around, he starts getting a lot of orders, gets out of debt, is able to buy a jeep to replace his motorbike, and moves to a comfortable bungalow. Then Vijay's life is turned upside down when he finds out that Vikram and Varsha are getting engaged. He meets with Varsha, who flats tells him that she prefers marrying someone richer and wealthier. Angrily he confronts Vikram, who counsels him that Varsha had never really loved him.

Raibahadur Satpal Singh (Nazir Husain) is killed cold-blooded in a remote village. He is survived by his twin daughters Rekha & Rashmi (both played by Rekha). Rekha manages their business with the help of their chief estate manager Deewan (A. K. Hangal) along with his son and factory manager Kishore (Danny). Rashmi and Kishore are in love with each other which displeases Rekha, who sends Rashmi abroad to attend a painting course. On the other hand, Rekha too is disinterested about her marriage. Meanwhile, driving through their estate, Rekha's car breaks down and is helped by Prem (Shashi Kapoor), with a golden hand for such machines. After a few meets, both fall in love with each other. After a few days, Rekha announces her engagement with Prem to the surprise of everyone around. She also wills to assign the entire estate to Rashmi before engagement. During the engagement, when Rekha's Police Inspector friend Vikas shows up to wish the couple for the occasion, Prem is suspiciously found missing. The next evening, the couple go out to spend private time on a house-boat anchored in a lake on their estate. Later in the stormy night, Rekha finds Prem missing from the boat and starts looking for him. While searching, someone pushes her in the lake, but not before Rekha glimpses the shadow of this person. Everyone at the estate is surprised with the news of Rekha's death. Meanwhile, she survives and reaches the house of her friend Pinky (Aruna Irani). Once there, Rekha learns about Rashmi's arrival for Rekha' funeral, and both plan to investigate the incident. On the other hand, Kishore, Prem and the Police too start their investigation separately to unmask the killer. Meanwhile, when Rashmi (Rekha disguised) meets him, Prem discloses the intense love for Rekha. She finds quite a few on her suspect list. Kishore wills to go to any extent to marry Rashmi. Prem for his suspicious movements. The staff at their estate, like the cook (Jagdeep), house keeper Ambu (Lalita Pawar) et al. The story progresses and after a few thrilling sequences, the murderer is revealed in the climax.

Samir Sahni is a farmer living with his mom, dad, wife, Rama, a young daughter, and his younger brother, Veer. Samir gets an offer to work in the U.K., and departs accordingly. He would like to settle there, and after doing so, would like his family to also join him. The years go by, and Samir keeps in touch with his family regularly. Then the Sahni family stop receiving any letters from him, and are anxious to know what has happened to him. Veer is asked to travel to U.K. to find out, and he does so. What he finds are tens of thousands of East Indians on fake passports, working for less than minimum wages, poor unhealthy conditions, fear of being deported, and paying half of their earnings to fellow East Indians who had got them here through the underground. Veer finds no sign of his brother, and sets out to investigate, only to find deceit, murder, and his very own life in danger.

The entire plot is woven around Indian family values, entrepreneurship and meteoric rise in business of a workshop owning mechanic, Charandas, played by veteran actor Om Prakash. This is the story of two brothers and a father. The brothers are twins Arun Sharma (played by Rishi Kapoor), and Kewal Sharma (Actor Rajesh Leher look alike of Rishi Kapoor,who also played lead role in film " Subh Din "of Rajeshree Productions ), and the father is Major Hemraj Sharma (Pran), a war veteran who became disabled in the last war, and has to rely on crutches to walk. The Major has a soft corner for Kewal, but shows open disapproval of Arun, thus alienating him. He constantly asks Arun to make sacrifices for Kewal, including giving up his love, Rekha (Zaheera). Heartbroken Arun leaves his father's home and meets an old acquaintance who he had saved from committing suicide, Jyoti (Neetu Singh). Jyoti gets Arun a job at her dad's (Pinchoo Kapoor) Diwan Pratap chand's hotel. Here Arun meets with a hotel waiter who tells him that his mother is still alive. Arun is shocked to note this and asks his mother to accompany him to confront his father.
