Synopsis
On the night of 18 October 1987, a soldier, Prebet Adam ran amok with an M16 in the area of Chow Kit, Kuala Lumpur. Due to the thorny circumstances of the time and place, his amok triggered a citywide panic and rumours of racial riots.Acteurs

In September 1998, Anwar Ibrahim was sacked as Deputy Prime Minister of Malaysia. His expulsion and subsequent trial for corruption and sodomy triggered a wave of street protests by his supporters and those who were against the authoritarian rule of the government of Dr. Mahathir Mohamad. The label for this movement and era was 'reformasi' (reformation). Malaysian Gods takes a look at several pivotal protests that took place in the year following his sacking. It eschews archive footage in favour of interviews with people who are living, working in or visiting the actual locations of the demonstrations, about a decade later. All the interviews are done in Tamil, the main language of the smallest of the three major ethnic groups.

Armadillo décrit de manière très directe le cynisme croissant et la dépendance à l'adrénaline de jeunes soldats en guerre. Mads et Daniel sont partis comme soldats pour leur première mission dans la province d'Helmand, en Afghanistan. Leur section est stationnée à Camp Armadillo, sur la ligne de front d'Helmand et ils vivent des combats violents contre les Talibans. Les soldats sont là pour aider les Afghans, mais à mesure que les combats s'intensifient et que les opérations sont de plus en plus effrayantes, Mads, Daniel et leurs amis deviennent cyniques, creusant le fossé entre eux et la civilisation afghane. Les sentiments de méfiance et de paranoïa prennent le relais, causant aliénation et désillusion. 'Armadillo' est un voyage dans l'esprit du soldat, et un film exceptionnel qui a pour thème l'histoire mythique de l'homme en guerre, mise en scène dans une version contemporaine qui se déroule en Afghanistan.

The events unfold just before the start of the Soviet withdrawal from Afghanistan in 1988. Lieutenant Steklov, son of a high-ranking General, is assigned to Afghanistan, hoping to take part in combat and earn some medals before the war ends. Sgt. Arsionov (Aleksei Serebryakov) combines his combat experience and bravery with brutal hazing of young conscripts back on the field base. Major Bandura`s tour of duty has expired. He is free to go home and reunite with his wife whom he has almost forgot. This means leaving his mistress Katya (Tatyana Dogileva), a nurse in the base's hospital—to a much anticipation from Bandura's superior Leonid (Mikhail Zhygalov) who fell in love with Katya. Anxiety is felt by many characters about the change taking place back in the Soviet Union during the Perestroika. Bandura himself thinks he might not be able to adapt. Katya says that Afghanistan will be remembered as the best part of their lives.

Devin Ratray is a musician and besotted admirer of Condoleezza Rice, 'Condi,' who travels across America, learning more about Rice from those who knew her. Ratray follows Rice's rise to Provost of Stanford University, where he discovers that, while in that position, she departed from the practice of applying affirmative action to tenure. In Los Angeles, he is given courtship advice by Adrian Grenier and cult comedian Jim Norton and is presented with a power ballad to send to Condi from Oscar nominated songwriter Carol Connors. When he arrives in Washington DC, he is assisted by Republican strategist Frank Luntz and is counseled by Newsweek editor Eleanor Clift.
