Thalattu Ketkuthamma is a 1991 Tamil drama film directed by Raj Kapoor making his directorial debut. The film features Prabhu and Kanaka in lead roles. The film, produced by Vijayalakshmi Srinivasan and Kanchana Sivaraman, had musical score by Ilaiyaraaja and was released on 5 November 1991. The film completed a 100-day run. The film was remade in Telugu as Chittemma Mogudu.
Synopsis
Raasaiyya (Prabhu), a young man, wants to get married as soon as possible and he compels his uncle (Goundamani). His cousin Pechiamma (Kanaka) is an immature tomboy. After seeing her friend Valli (Mounica) dying during her delivery, Pechiamma thinks after the marriage, she will die. Raasaiyya finally gets married with Pechiamma. Thereafter, Pechiamma avoids Raasaiyya although he treasures her. One day, Raasaiyya comes drunk in his house and rapes Peciamma. She became pregnant. What transpires later forms the crux of the story.Acteurs

Muthukaalai (Murali), an angry young man, returns to his village after studying in the city. Ambalam (R. P. Viswam) is a respected panchayat headman, since his brother got married with another caste woman, he hates their family. Poochandu (Saradha Preetha), Ambalam's niece, falls in love with Muthukaalai. In the meantime, Muthukaalai's cousin Marikolunthu (Revathi) who is crazy about Muthukaalai comes from her village to marry him. One day, the storm devastates the entire village, destroying the poor villagers' house. The villagers begg Ambalam to let them in the temple until the storm calms down but Ambalam refuses point blank. Poochandu's mother breaks the temple's padlock to save the villagers. The next day, at the village panchayat, Ambalam condemn Poochandu's mother to tonsure and Poochandu to become a Devadasi. In anger against this dictatorship, Muthukaalai ridicules Ambalam and he get married with Poochandu. What transpires next forms the rest of the story.

The movie begins with Jeeva (Prabhu), running away from his village to Chennai fearing a possible marriage with the daughter of a local chieftain (Radharavi), arranged by his father. He joins his old-friend Velu (Vadivelu), who runs an eatery in the city. Meanwhile, he saves a youth (Mahandahi Shankar), a henchman of a local goon Singam (Karthick) from some gangsters. Thus he gets the acquaintance of Singam. Meanwhile Singam come across Abi (Flora), a research scholar and Jeeva meets Divya (Manya). Both fall in love with them. Enters another goon (Raj Kapoor), who leaves his stolen money with Singam. He runs behind Singam to get the money back.

Ajith Kumar (as Jeeva), who lives with his grandmother in Madurai, says he would marry the girl he likes at first sight. He goes to Chennai after getting a job as a bank manager there. In a shopping mall, he gets a glimpse of Simran (as Divya) and promptly falls in love. He identifies her scooter model and soon he goes on a mission in search of her to end up in a colony surrounded by comedians (Goundamani, Senthil, Venniradai Moorthy, Dhamu, Kovai Sarala). The colony people mistakenly thought that Jeeva is trying to steal the scooter and therefore he lied that he was looking for a house to rent. Then, he agreed to stay in the colony after conforming that Divya and her mother, Sujatha (as Janaki) is residing in the colony.

This movie is about Sathyaraj who loves Roja one-sided and she marries her uncle. Once Manivannan & Roja's husband get into a fight. Unfortunately Roja & her husband passes away. So Sathyaraj does not marry anyone & Devotes his life for Roja's daughter Sangeetha. Because of this issue there was a break in the family, Lakshmi who is Manivannan wife and Satyaraj's Sister and he were separated. This made Manivannan very angry so he always wants to avenge. Satyaraj save a girl (Meena) from the sea, who doesn't want to divulge her past. As time passes, Meena gets closer into the family and Manorama( mother) asks Sathyaraj to marry Meena. And this creates a problem for Sangeetha as she loses Sathyaraj's attention, she comes out of her family and stays in Manivannan's house. Later Lakshmi explains the whole story to her and lets her go to her father. In the end Meena, Sathyaraj, Sangeetha, Manorama, Goundamani & Senthil live together happily.
