Dil-E-Nadaan (Hindi: दिल-ए-नादान; English: The Mischievous Heart) is an Indian Hindi film directed by C.V. Sridhar, released in 1982. The film stars Rajesh Khanna in the main lead role as Anand and Shatrughan Sinha as his friend as the second lead character of the film. This film was remake of 1978 Tamil film Ilamai Oonjal Aadukirathu, directed by C.V. Sridhar, where Kamal Hassan and Rajnikanth played the lead male roles. After success of the Tamil version, C.V. Sridhar decided to remake it in Hindi and directed it himself.

Synopsis

Vikram (Shatrughan Sinha) and Anand (Rajesh Khanna) are best friends, brought up by their mom (Dina Pathak). Anand is an orphan who was adopted by the family as a child and he has never been given the impression that he was an outsider. Vikram and Anand are owner and manager respectively, of an advertising agency in Bombay. Both work for the same organization & love the same woman, Asha (Jaya Prada).

Prabhu (Kamal Haasan) is brought up by Murali's (Rajinikanth) mother and is the General Manager for Murali's marketing agency at Chennai. Murali treats Prabhu not just as a friend, but as a brother and depends on him for all business decisions. Prabhu is in love with Padma (Sripriya), a college student. Padma's relative Jayanthi (Jayachitra) is a young widow who works at Murali's office. Murali, an alcoholic, with a roving eye is not aware of Prabhu's love for Padma. Dharamchand is the Chair of Olympic Bank, which is due for a final audit by the 30th of the month. Shortly thereafter, his daughter, Hema, finds his dead body in his bedroom. She phones her brother, Ratan, who arrives, finds a suicide note in his dad's room, clarifying that he had embezzled 20 lakhs from the bank, is unable to repay it, and hence is killing himself. Ratan decides to protect the good name of the family and does not tell anyone about the suicide note to anyone, including Hema. Shortly thereafter, Ratan is approached by a blackmailer named Shekhar, who threatens to expose Ratan's secret if Ratan does not participate in a bank robbery that will take place two days before the final audit. Ratan assists him, the robbery takes place, the money is looted, all bank records are burnt, and the robbers make a successful getaway. Ratan is relieved that his problem has been resolved and the family name is not tarnished. The only problem is that Hema saw the robbers in action, and is able to identify one of them, a woman named Shobha. When she tells Ratan, he asks her to keep this information a secret. Then Ratan's friend, Sagar, arrives from Delhi for a visit, and it is here that Ratan will find out that Sagar is in a profession that has made him a suspect with the police, and may rip open the secret that Ratan has been trying to hide from the world.
