Ajouter à une liste de filmsAnand Ashram is a 1977 double version Indian drama film in Hindi and Bengali written and directed by Shakti Samanta, based on a story by Bengali film director and novelist, Sailajananda Mukhopadhyay. It starred Ashok Kumar, Uttam Kumar and Sharmila Tagore in lead roles. Samanta has previously made another double version, Amanush (1975) with the same lead actors, however this film didn't do well at the box office.
Synopsis
Dr. Deepak lives with his wealthy father, a Thakur, in a small town in India. While the Thakur would like to get Deepak to marry a woman from an equally wealthy family, he has fallen in love with a poor woman named Asha, and would like to marry her. The Thakur is displeased, and asks Deepak to leave his house, never to return. A few months later, Thakur's employee, Girdhari, informs him that he has found an abandoned child by the river bank, and would like to adopt him. Initially the Thakur does not want anything to do with the child, but when he sees it for the first time, he decides to let Girdhari have his way. Years later, young Pratap has grown up under Girdhari and Thakur's care, and travels abroad to study in order to be a doctor. When he returns he decides to work with a chemical company. His travels take him to meet a beautiful woman named Kiran, her father, and an elderly man named Doctor. Pratap is perturbed by this doctor, who seems to know him very well, and wants him to leave his job at the chemical company, and start practicing medicine in the small town where they live. What Pratap does not know that this doctor is none other than his biological father, Deepak. What both don't know is what steps the Thakur will take when he finds out that Pratap is none other than his grandson.Acteurs

After being unsuccessful in finding her true love in her own country, India, the rich Deepa (Sharmila Tagore) goes to Paris, France in search of it. Her father's secretary already lives there, so to take care of her in the unknown country, her father informs him and also hires an assistant, Honey, and a driver, Makhan Singh (Rajindernath). Wealthy and pampered Rajiv Lal (Shammi Kapoor) is the only son of widowed Rani Maa. At the silver jubilee anniversary of the mill that his father, the late Sanjiv Lal opened, he announces a bonus of 5 lakh rupees for all the workers, annoying his mother. A servant at the house, Karuna (Mridula Rani), suggests marrying him off to stop his immature antics, to which Rani Maa agrees. Her manager, Shyamlal, arranges for her to meet some girls, as she insists that Rajiv will marry a girl of her choice. Rajiv returns home and sees all the girls - he correctly surmises that his mother is getting him married, and he pretends to be a mute who walks with a limp in order to chase all the prospective suitors off. His plan succeeds, although he is in a dilemma as his mother is furious at him. One of his friends suggests that he should go away to their bungalow in Kashmir - after all, Rani Maa never goes there.

Advocate Jayant (Rajesh Khanna) a criminal lawyer believes that a lawyer's duty is to do service to his client alone and to bail him out of his trouble even if his client is in reality a criminal. His close friend Amit is an honest police inspector who brings many of the goons that are part of gang of smugglers led by Mulchand Malhotra but they are let off by the court when he uses his skills and knowledge about the loopholes in law. Jayant helps Mulchand in setting his workmen free from jail. Amit Gupta asks Jayant to be more responsible when he defends criminals, who are repeat offenders. Later Amit is killed and this motivates Amit's brother Vijay to join the police force. Meanwhile Priya (Jayant's sister) falls in love with Vijay and both decide to marry. But one day while going on a picnic Anu (Jayant's wife) and Priya get into trouble as their car tire gets punctured on a road near a jungle. There a drunkard who happens to be Mulchand's son rapes Anu and injures Priya. On being humiliated Anu commits suicide. Jayant also gets a clue that the death of his friend Amit was not accidental but was a deliberate attempt by some goons and that the rapist is a person known to Mulchand and his gang members. Jayant tries enlisting the help of his clients Mulchand and Meerchandani in finding the real culprits but realises that they are not responsive. Jayant vows to find the assailants, but before he can attempt anything his daughter, Nandita, is kidnapped. The kidnappers want Jayant to represent Mulchand's son in a criminal case, and get him acquitted. Mulchand says his daughter is with them and would be left once his son is let off in a court of law. Jayant gets his client out on bail. Jayant does not know that his client is the one who had raped his wife and sister, and when Jayant does find out there is noting he can do since his daughter still under the control of her kidnappers. The rest of the story is how he single handedly brings all of them to justice.
