The film, a remake of the 2002 Telugu film Allari, stars Allari Naresh, who also starred in the original version, which marked his acting debut, along with the female artists Diya and Nikita Thukral in lead roles. The film released on 21 November 2003 to poor reviews, failing to repeat the success of the original version and hence, ending up as a box-office bomb, being considered as the only commercially unsuccessful film of director Vishnuvardhan.
It is a triangular love story between three young teenagers. The story portrays how the hero finds his true love.

There is the innocent Brahmin-boy Satya (Navdeep) who comes from Nagercoil to Chennai to join an engineering college. And then his problems begin one by one when he encounters the dreaded don Adhi Narayanan (Prakash Raj), who is actually Satya's father and his hot-blooded son Kutty (Arya). Satya's girlfriend Sandhya (Sameksha) is accidentally wounded in a shootout between Adhi's gang and his rivals. Satya, on the prodding of ACP Thiagarajan (Adithya Menon) is all set to identify Kutty as the culprit.

The film starts with Ashok setting bombs in three places and informing the police about them. Before the police arrive, the bombs are set off. He along with his lady love Maya (Nayanthara), both threaten her old collegemate hacker Arjun (Arya) who starts hacking one system after the other. Ashok then threatens Sridhar Raghavan (Aadukalam Naren) by trying to kill his baby so that he can extract the truth about black money, Ashok murders him in a fit of rage. Arjun, who is particularly irritated by the things happening around him, complains about the misdeeds of Ashok to inspector Prakash (Kishore). When Ashok gets closer to achieving his goals, he gets arrested by the police.

Because of a mistake by Lord Brahma, Naresh (Allari Naresh) is born a month early without the mandatory ‘Thalaratha’. Due to this, Naresh does not have the normal human attributes like death or disease, which are inherently unknown to him. He is also addicted to mythological dramas and takes part in them actively. During one such Swayamvaram drama, Lord Yama’s daughter Yamaja (Richa Panai) is deliberately brought to the proceedings by Narada Maharshi (Naresh). Yamaja marries Naresh in that play and takes him for her husband in real life too. She keeps hounding him and slowly, Naresh reciprocates her feelings.
