Marlon Brando, Sr. was born in Omaha, Nebraska, the son of Marie Belle (née Holloway), a housewife, and Eugene Everett Brando. He had German, Dutch, and English ancestry. His direct male ancestor Johann Wilhelm Brandau emigrated to New Amsterdam in the 17th century from Pfalz, Germany. In 1918, Brando Senior married Dorothy Pennebaker in Douglas, Nebraska. He died of a heart attack.
