Edgar is a young upper-middle class man, close to completing 30 years old, he lives a full life crisis and is in a position common to the vast majority of Brazilians. The people of Linha Cristal, a fictitious village of Italo Brazilian descendants in Serra Gaúcha, gather to discuss the construction of a septic tank for sewage treatment. They form a commission which is responsible in ordering the budget to the town hall. The secretary of the mayor recognizes the need of the tank, but informs that there is no budget available. There is, however, R$ 10,000 available for the production of a film. This money was sent by the federal government and will be sent back if not used soon. The people of Linha Cristal have the idea of using the money to make a low budget documentary about the construction of the tank, but the film has to be fictitious. Then, they decide to make a science fiction B movie which tells the story of a monster who lives in the building site of a tank.

A small poor community called Javé is under threat of being flooded by a new dam that is being built, and the only way to prevent this is to prove the town's historical value. As most of the inhabitants are illiterate, they have no choice but to ask for the help of Antônio Biá, a man who has been ostracized ever since it was discovered that he had sent out letters with lies about their reputations as a way to keep his job in Javé's seldom-used post office. He now has the task of documenting people's memories of how the city was founded, yet each inhabitant has his or her own version of what happened.

In Verona, Italy, live two rival families, the Montagues and the Capulets. Constant clashes took Prince Sunny to ban fights and duels between them, with the promise to punish those who violate the peace. Angel Benvolio is invited to a masquerade ball at the house of Capulet - Romeu Montague Jimmy Five decides to go there in disguise. Once there, he bumps into Juliet Monicapulet, who falls in love for him. After a meeting at the counter, she decides to marry Romeo - but he is reluctant, only changing his mind after being beaten by Friar Smudge. After a marriage that happens just because the bride was armed with a bunny, Romeo and Friar Smudge rush to play in a marble championship. There, Romeo fights with Chuck Billy Tybalt, Juliet's cousin, and is expelled from the city. Desperate, Juliet asks the Friar to come up with a foolproof plan - and he decides to read Romeo and Juliet. But as the book ends with the two protagonists dead, Juliet Monicapulet does not like this ending and goes behind the Prince Sunny, that decides to forgive Romeo.
