Synopsis
Tired of facing assaults by the corrupt policemen and lawbreakers in the hilly village areas, Kundan (Sunil Shetty) decides to move to Mumbai with his younger brother Kisna (Kunal Khemu). With the help of honest lawyer Satyaprakash (Om Puri) and his two daughters Pooja (Pooja Batra) and Meenu (Sonali Bendre), Kundan soon gets a job as an auto driver, and begins to send Kisna to school. Soon they change their lifestyle and become city dwellers. Don David (Ashish Vidyarthi) and Malik (Rajendra Gupta) are arch rivals in the city, struggling to come to power, and corrupt minister Mantri tries to support both for his own gain.Acteurs

Raghavan alias Raghu (Raghuvaran) has been ignored and demeaned all his life. He decides to teach the world a lesson, by printing the best ever fake currency notes. This does get him some conditional recognition by a gangster named Bardha (Pramod Moutho). But Raghavan's goal is much higher than getting some recognition, and his plans materialize when he is able to get Bardha killed, and takes over as the unchallenged leader of the underworld. Raghavan decides to put a temporary halt to all criminal operations when he comes to know that his brother-in-law, Asst. Superintendent of Police, Raj Sinha (Sunil Shetty), along with his wife, Suman (Karisma Kapoor), her mother (Aruna Irani), and his young son, Bunty, are coming for a visit. Raghavan's instructions are not followed, and Raj realizes that Raghavan is the head of the crime syndicate. Raghavan then decides to use his position and abducts Suman, her mother, and Bunty, and uses them as a shield against Raj. But Raj is bent upon capturing Raghavan by any means possible, and as a result, Suman and her mother are killed. Now the only one left alive from Sinha family is Bunty, but if Raj continues to pursue Raghavan, it does not look like Bunty will be alive for very long. Raj's revenge against Raghavan forms the crux of the film.

Sapna (Karisma Kapoor), orpheline dès son plus jeune âge, a été élevée par ses trois oncles paternels : Bhola Nath (Om Puri) qui n’est intéressé que par l’exercice physique pour garder un corps d’athlète, Prabhu Nath (Paresh Rawal) qui loue la religion et Vicky Nath (Anupam Kher) dont la modernité et les goûts occidentaux exaspèrent ses frères. Sapna est maintenant une charmante jeune fille et ses trois oncles se mettent en tête de lui trouver un mari. Mais seul un homme partageant les passions des trois oncles pourra épouser Sapna. Bien que celle-ci ait toujours fait de son mieux pour respecter les souhaits de ses oncles, elle trouve cette fois qu’ils vont trop loin et décide de partir seule en voyage en Suisse. Raja Oberoi (Salman Khan) qui participe au même voyage tombe amoureux de Sapna mais celle-ci ne semble pas partager les mêmes sentiments. Mais lorsque Raja lui vient en aide, Sapna réalise qu’elle l’aime et tous deux décident de se marier en Inde. Dès leur retour au pays, le père de Raja (Kader Khan) se rend chez les trois oncles de Sapna pour demander sa main mais il ne peut garantir que son fils répondra aux exigences des trois oncles en se montrant sportif, pieux et moderne.

M. Negi vient d’être muté à l’ambassade indienne de Saint-Pétersbourg. Il s’installe avec sa femme et ses deux filles, Dhana et Lucky, dans cette ville inconnue. Mr. Raj K. Saxena (Kader Khan) is known for his parsimony. Everything he does and thinks is valued with money, and ways he can accumulate it. His daughter, Kiran (Ameesha Patel), is the opposite, a spendthrift. Mr. Saxena borrows money from elderly people, assuring them of returning the loan with a handsome rate of interest after about 20 years, knowing fully well that none of them will survive 20 years. Then he meets with the son of one of such lender, aptly named after him viz. Raj K. Saxena (Aftab). Mr. Saxena refuses to repay the amount, swallows the proof, the only evidence, and asks Raj to get out, which he does so. Raj is determined to get his money, and wants Kiran to fall in love with him. Kiran does so, and brings him over to introduce him to her shocked and speechless dad. Things change when Raj inherits a large amount of money, ironically left by Mr. Saxena maternal grandmother, and it is Mr. Saxena who is now anxious to get in the good books of Raj, with hilarious results.

Interrogé lors d’une émission télévisée, le général Amarjeet Bakshi (Kabir Bedi) expose son opération « Mission Milaap» qui consiste à libérer des prisonniers pakistanais pour qu’ils puissent regagner leur pays. Ce projet serait la première étape d'un processus de paix avec le Pakistan. L’émission tourne au carnage lorsqu'une attaque terroriste est lancée par Raghavan Datta (Sunil Shetty), exclu de l'armée indienne pour avoir fait exécuter des civils pakistanais et farouchement opposé à cette opération. Le général Bakshi s’en sort vivant, mais Shekhar Sharma (Naseeruddin Shah), responsable de la sécurité lors de l’émission, est touché d'une balle en plein cœur. Avant de mourir, il révèle à son fils, le major Ram Prasad Sharma (Shahrukh Khan) qu’il a un demi-frère, Lakshman (Zayed Khan).
