It was remade in Hindi as Jis Desh Mein Ganga Rehta Hain which was released in 2000. The plot of the 1974 Kannada movie Bangaarada Panjara is similar to this movie.
Synopsis
Dada Kondke lives a simple, straightforward life in a small village with his mom and dad, and his sweetheart, Usha Chavan. When the time comes for Dada to marry, his parents inform him that his biological parents live in the city and want him to settle there. Dada bids tearful farewell to his village and its inhabitants and travels to the city of his birth parents and then starts his funny adventures to adjust to new city life.Acteurs

Vishwanath and Shekhar are the best of friends and Vishwanath is in love with Chanchal, who, true to her name is like a chameleon. Watching his friend trapped in a love affair, Shekhar hires Champa, a tamasha dancer to act as Vishwanath's lover. Soon this turns into reality, but somehow Vishwanath’s father manages to separate them, unaware of the fact that Champa is carrying Vishwanath’s child.
