Jeffrey D. Brown is an American film/television director film producer and screenwriter. He is best known for the directing, producing and writing the short film Molly's Pilgrim for which he won an Academy Award in 1986 for Academy Award for Live Action Short Film.
His other directing credits are the television series The Wonder Years, L.A. Law, Hooperman, Freshman Dorm, Baby Boom and an episode of CBS Schoolbreak Special.
Brown has also produced and co-wrote the films Pontiac Moon (1994) starring Ted Danson and Mary Steenburgen and Dream with the Fishes (1997), both in collaboration with Finn Taylor.

The film follows Terry, a suicidal voyeur who doesn't seem to be able to kill himself. While preparing for jumping off a bridge, he meets Nick who ends up saving his life. Terry discovers that Nick is terminally ill and doesn't have much time left. Scared by the lack of time, Nick offers Terry a deal he can't refuse: Terry will become the beneficiary of Nick's life insurance or, since money doesn't matter to Terry, Nick promises to kill him before he dies. All Nick asks is Terry's help to realize a few fantasies before dying.

TV reporter Adolph Caesar is outside Madison Square Garden before the start of a martial arts tournament that will apparently determine the "successor" to the legacy of Bruce Lee. He interviews martial arts promoter Aaron Banks, who says that Lee was actually killed by a kung fu move called "The Touch of Death." Banks describes the move as being effective in "three to four weeks." The segment contains a sequence of flashbacks to Bruce Lee ostensibly supporting Banks' assertion. In one, a poorly dubbed Lee states "the secret to karate is power, internal power from the ear!"
