Synopsis
Anu & Ameli are two sisters. Both deeply in love with Sunil. But Sunil loves Anu. When Anu aware of Ameli's love interest with Sunil, she decides to make a scarifies and compel Sunil to marry Ameli. Anu herself marry Manoj, a local goon to stay away from Sunil & Amile. As usual Manoj starts torturing Anu & her son. In the meantime, when Sunil get knowledge of Anu's trauma, came to rescue Anu from Monaj. In a clash between Sunil & Manoj, when Monaj attempts to kill Sunil, Anu kills Manoj.Acteurs

Raghupati (Raimohan Parida) is a cruel & powerful man in the village. He kills the Jamidar (Landlord) of the village, occupies his palace and keeps his daughter Arati (Anu Choudhury) under terror. Also keeps Jagu (Siddhanta Mahapatra) as a slave, because Jagu's father exchange him against the loan he takes from Raghupati. Arati and Jagu as are in the same fate love each other. Raghupati with his aids Raghsb and Rajaram (Jairam Samal) exploits and rules the poor people of the village. One day a forest officer Akash (Chandan Kar) comes to the village to look after nearby forest. He meets Bijuli (Archita Sahu) by an accident and both falls in love each other. Gradually due his noble qualities, Akash becomes the ideal voice of the village. Akash counters and tries to stop the illegal activities the trio Raghupati, Raghab and Rajaram.

Kali, Shankar and Tithi are the three motherless children of the acting priest of a local Krishna temple in an anonymous small town/village in West Bengal. The local MLA Debu Soren’s henchmen kill their father because he insists on standing witness in court against a murder committed at Soren’s behest. Kali, the elder brother, kills the corrupt lawyer as he walks out of the courtroom after the judge has delivered his judgement. Kali goes to jail for ten years. Shankar meets with a freak accident and is brought up by a local Muslim fakir. But the accident has left him with a memory loss and a penchant for violence. He grows up to be one of Debu Soren’s favourite henchmen. The little girl Tithi, who is picked off the streets by the maid of Debu’s mistress, grows up to become a wayward girl on the verge of turning alcoholic.

Kathantara, a feature film in Oriya language, is an attempt to throw light on the trials and tribulations of 1999 Orissa cyclone survivors with particular emphasis on Kalpana (Anu Chowdhury), a young widow. Kalpana’s destiny is followed from different perspective and a tale of human predicament is built around her. The films narrative unfolds with the anniversary function of 1999 Super Cyclone that devastated coastal Orissa. This was one of the severest cyclones of the last century. It had caused absolute havoc, leaving thousands dead and many more thousands homeless and destitute. The worst affected was the Bengali Hindu refugee settlement. Aids and relief came pouring in. So also came NGOs, media persons, politicians, and vested-interest groups. With so much external influence the local value system got affected, corruption and amoral practices became rampant. Dipankar, a TV Journalist from Bangladesh, is engaged in documenting the cyclone anniversary and the status of the post-cyclone survivors. With the help of an NGO group he covers the programme, and hears a great deal about Kalpana — the much publicised cyclone widow. Dipankar takes a keen interest on her and wants to do a special feature.
