Story revolves around a police officer who kills a bandit and adopts his orphan son. The boy becomes a police officer and falls in love with the man's daughter Gauri played by Farha. The step-mother who is the police officer's wife falls for khrishna(Sunny). Meanwhile she is also having an affair with Girivar(Danny). Khrishna rejects the step mother. Bachelor Shankar Saxena lives with his elder brother, Chief Engineer Vinay, his wife Kavita, and their daughter of marriageable age, Pooja. Madhu (Kanishka Kapoor) lives a wealthy lifestyle in Mussoorie and operates Hotel Savoy. She meets with and falls in love with Vijay Sanyal (Jas Pandher) and shortly thereafter both of them get married. After the marriage, her friend, Julie, and her mom notice a change in Vijay but do not tell Madhu about this, leaving Vijay free to get Madhu to sign a Power of Attorney in his favor. The only one missing is Mirza, who had stated that he will be arriving later. Instead, however, ACP Sumed Singh (Raj Babbar) arrives to inform them that Mirza has been killed in a car explosion.

Hasmukh Rai (Kader Khan) has a problem. As a matter of fact, two problems — his two sons: Munnu (Chunky Pandey) and Bunnu (Govinda Ahuja). The duo are notorious slackers, always up to no good, and involved in elaborate practical jokes. It comes to Hasmukh's attention that his sons have been lying to him about their college grades — in studies and sports — and have not been attending school for the last three years. As a result, they are kicked out of college and, ultimately, their home. Later, one of their practical jokes gets out of hand, and Bunnu disappears, presumed dead. At the same time, Munnu gets involved with a conspiracy of killing Bunnu. Meanwhile, from a small Indian village, Bunnu's identical cousin, Gauri Shankar, arrives in town.
