Crime and corruption have taken over Bombay City without any solution. A rash of kidnappings of young women takes place. One auto-rickshaw driver Auto Kesariya is behind this crime. The policemen of Kala Chowki Police Station are doing little to stop these crimes. Former Assistant Commissioner of Police, Arjun Verma is reinstated and assigned to this case. Arjun gets himself deeply involved in this disappearance and the kidnappings and faces the shock and trauma of finding skeletal remains of young women who have been abducted as well as body parts stolen from innocent patients from hospitals. Malati (Rati Agnihotri), a young girl from a middle-class family meets Suresh Ray (Mithun Chakraborty), who is the son of a well-known lawyer Dayashankar Ray (Danny Denzongpa). After dating each other for some time, she finds that she is pregnant. When Suresh refuses to marry Malati, and she decides against aborting the baby, her parents throw her out and disown her. Left alone, she decides to take Suresh to court. She is supported in this fight by Shakuntala (Rekha), a lawyer who works for woman's rights, who also has an illegitimate daughter from Dayashankar Ray. The case gets much publicity and public support, and the judge rules in Malati's favor. At this point however, Malati refuses to marry Suresh and decides to raise the child on her own. Young Krishna is driven out of the house by his uncle Sajhan (Paresh Rawal) after his father Narayan Srivastav dies. Krishna goes to live with his school-teacher Saraswati Devi (Raakhee), who has two children, Suraj & Jyoti, of her own. Sajhan's tactics separates Suraj from his family, and assuming he is dead Saraswati looks after Krishna and Jyoti. Time flies and Krishna(now played by Anil Kapoor) falls in love with his college friend Madhu (Madhuri Dixit). Sajhan's son Raghu (Tej Sapru) turns to become a local goonda, protected by his dad by bribing the local police. Ajay (Jeetendra) & Vijay (Dharmendra) are thieves and best friends who are in jail under punishment, one day they meets a guy Manohar who is going to be hanged next day. Manohar wants to meet Ajay & Vijay as his last wish and tells them his story that his sister Radha was kidnapped by a Taxi driver and raped by a rich house guy Dinesh Lal (Shakthi Kapoor). He, his elder brother Dhanny Lal (Prem Chopra), his friend Som Lal (Annupam Kher) and Inspector Emaandar (Kader Khan) trapped him in the murder case of Taxi driver and from that his parents are also missing; Ajay & Vijay promises Manohar that they will save him and postpones his hanging by breaking his leg. Next day when they releases from jail starts their trails to protect Manohar, first of all they traps Inspector Emaandar and keeps him in their grip with his help Vijay joins as body guard for Dinesh and Ajay traps Dhanny Lal’s daughter Rani (Bhanu Priya) into his love. Vijay loves Emaandar’s daughter Inspector Shila (Anita Raj). In this process they come to know Manohar’s parents are kidnapped by Dhanny Lal & Som Lal only because his father Jagan Nath (Shreeram Lagoo) knows a secret of a treasure. Ajay recognizes that Manohar’s parents are only his parents from whom he was separated in childhood and Vijay recognizes that Jagan Nath as killer of his parents there arises a clash between Ajay & Vijay which cams down after knowing the truth that real culprit was Som Lal who killed Vijay’s parents by wearing mask of Jagan Nath. Dr.Sandeep Kumar (Jeetendra), Inspector Ranjith (Rajinikanth) & Advocate Prakash (Rishi Kapoor) are thickest, best & childhood friends, the three of them grew up together because Prakash is often and Ranjith’s father Daga (Amrish Puri) is a smuggler who left him alone because of his honesty and took his mother & sister with him so Sandeep’s parents (Pran & Shavukar Janaki) brought them up. Ranjith is an honest police officer, Sandeep is a well known doctor in the city, Prakash is a leading criminal lawyer three of them has always clash with Daga who became a big gangster and doesn’t know that Ranjith is his son. Ranjith & Prakash always carrels with Sandeep because the only problem with Sandeep is he is very short temper, he cannot withstand himself if somebody does any injustice to anyone. One day Daga’s gangster (Guru Bachan) kidnaps and rapes Ranjith’s wife Lata (Poonam Dhillon) who is pregnant which is seen by Sandeep and he bits him very hard and takes promise from Lata that she does not reveal this secret. Daga takes advantage of this he kills the gangster and traps Sandeep in that case. Ranjith arrests Sandeep and Prakash takes up the case but Sandeep doesn’t reveal the truth to protect Lata so Prakash makes a story that Sandeep has made the crime to protect his wife to save him, he brings a girl Rekha (Bhanu Priya) as Sandeep’s wife whom Sandeep has protected from few gangsters once a while. Meanwhile Sandeep loves and really marries Rekha and Prakash also loves a thief Shanthi (Kimi Katkar) whose brother is killed by Daga and for whom she is under search. At the end Ranjith comes know the truth, he accepts Lata even though she got raped and he recognizes Daga is his father and Rekha is his sister whom Daga left in streets in the childhood. Finally Sandeep, Ranjith & Prakash join together and defeat Daga.
