Jee Ayan Nu (Gurmukhi: ਜੀ ਆਇਆਂ ਨੂੰ, Shahmukhi: جی آیاں نوں, English: Welcome) is a Punjabi feature film, released in 2002.

It stars Harbhajan Mann in the lead role with Priya Gill. It was directed by Manmohan Singh. It is one of the most successful movie in Punjabi cinema. The movie's songs are quite popular and were sung by Harbhajan Mann, Alka Yagnik and others. Jee Aayan Nu is the first film in the history of Punjabi cinema to be made on such a lavish scale and with renowned technicians who have contributed their best efforts and dedication.

Synopsis

Grewal (Kanwaljeet), a business tycoon of the media industry, is a Punjabi settled in Vancouver, Canada with his wife and daughter. Simar (Priya Gill), the elder daughter, was three years old when she was brought to Canada from her birthplace, Punjab. Living a luxurious life in Canada, both daughters are highly influenced by the local culture. Grewal, with his family, returns to Punjab after many years to attend a college function. Grewal meets Inder (Harbhajan Mann) who happens to be Grewal's childhood friend's son. Grewal asks Inder to take Simar around and show her the beauty of Punjab.

Elle s'y rend accompagnée de ses deux employées de maison (pour ne pas dire servantes)... vraiment particulières ! Un jeune chauffeur de taxi bourru, au cœur tendre, indépendant et accessoirement excellent chanteur, Raja Hindustani (Aamir Khan), les accompagne. Il s'est ainsi nommé parce qu'il est son propre maître, Raja, et Hindustani-Indien, car il ne se revendique d'aucune ethnie particulière (hindoue, musulmane, etc.). Raja est aussi un grand timide à cheval sur les principes... Le voyage dure un jour et il est convenu de faire un arrêt de nuit dans un hôtel. Mais les deux « drôles de dames » qui les accompagnent ont oublié de valider leur réservation, et Raja propose gentiment de les héberger.

Anna (Claudia Ciesla) comes to Punjab to find her sister's husband who cheated her and disappeared from Canada, with all her sister's valuables along with Sehaj (Vandana Singh). Sehaj's father wants to marry her to anyone who offers lot of money as Sehaj has permanent resident rights in Canada. Sehaj finds this and runs away from home and goes to Kuku's home (Gurpreet Ghuggi), whom they earlier met at Delhi Airport. After finding out that Sehaj has permanent residency of Canada, two of Kuku's friend Deep and Jashan tries to woo Sehaj. Sehaj is confused between the two and finally choose Jashan. A local businessman is interested in buying Kuku's family land. But Kuku is not interested so the businessman often sends hence henchman to threaten him. Kuku's sister is school teacher and on a day is invited for lunch at fellow teacher's home. She takes Anna along with her, where she finds the photograph of the man she is looking for. That man turns out to be husband of Kuku's sister's colleague Tarseem Singh (Binnu Dhillon). Kuku enlist Deep's school time friend Vijay, a suspended cop. Vijay kidnaps Ujagar Singh, the in-charge cop of the area, who is also accomplice in businessman and Tarseem's crimes. Vijay threatens Ujagar with life and gets the truth out of him. Due to solving this case, Vijay gets his job back and arrest Tarseem and the businessman. Kuku, Anna, Sehaj and Jashan forms a committed relationship.

Two young Punjabi-British men visit their homeland, Punjab: Roop Singh (Jimmy Shergill), comes to see his grandfather, Gurdit Singh (Arun Bali) and Roop's touristy pal DJ (Gurpreet Ghuggi) comes to see how Punjab is like. Roop meets Reet Brar (Neeru Bajwa), a university classmate of his cousin Deepi's, and falls for her, and DJ falls for brainy, Kulwant Kaur (Akshita Vasudeva), another classmate. DJ, trying to videotape locals in the town square, and learn more about his homeland, has to avoid a cranky old woman, Atro, who drives a tractor. Roop agrees to let his aunt be his matchmaker and set up an arranged marriage for himself and Reet, but the modern-thinking Reet wants no part of what she considers outmoded provincialism. Her father (Deep Dhillon) angrily sets up an arranged marriage for her with Jagjot Gill (singer Amrinder Gill, in his first film). Reet, however, reconsiders and realizes she loves Roop after all, and Kulwant falls for DJ too. Reet tells Jagjot, that she loves Roop a lot, so to help the lovers Jagjot says he's not ready to get married. After this incident no boy will marry Reet so, Reet's father and her ne'er-do-well brother, Jaile (Binnu Dhillon), devise a plan to figure out if he Roop really loves Reet: Her father will give his consent if Roop can find a British bride for Jaile, which will prove that Roop is ready to do anything for Reet. DJ calls in an old girlfriend from UK, party girl, Candy (Khushboo), who flies in to help, they plan a scheme which will scare Jaile away. Candy acts like a traditional, Punjabi girl, and wins Jaile's heart, so they fix, Roop and Reet's and Jaile and Candy's engagement for the same day. Candy tells Kulwant that DJ was in many relationships with many different girls, since she still loves DJ, after hearing that Kulwant is heart-broken, and leaves DJ. Then the day before the engagement Candy reveals how modern girls really are, by bringing him to a pub. On the engagement day Jaile runs away, Candy tells DJ, that if he doesn't sit in Jaile's spot, she will reveal the truth, so to help out his friend, DJ and Candy get engaged and so do Roop and Reet.
