Paths of War (Italian: Franco e Ciccio sul sentiero di guerra) is a 1970 Italian western-comedy film directed by Aldo Grimaldi.

Synopsis

In 1858 in Italy, in Sicily, Franco and Ciccio defend the Bourbon army to prevent the unification of Italy built by Giuseppe Garibaldi. However, when the troops of Garibaldi defeate the Bourbons, Franco and Ciccio escape, taking refuge in a box, which is delivered in America. In the Far West, Franco and Ciccio find themselves involved in the American War of Independence against the Apache Indians. They, camouflage, disguise themselves first by warlike Americans, and then by Indian holy men, being able to save their skin.

In the Wild West the bandits Franco and Ciccio, being unlucky in robberies, have an ingenious way to collect money. En France, en juillet 1789, peu de jours avant que n'éclate la Révolution française, Franco et Ciccio La Capra arrivent à Paris pour chercher du travail. Ils en trouvent dans un atelier pour dames nobles. Quand un groupe de gentilshommes déchaînés prend l'atelier d'assaut parce que Franco et Ciccio ont mis la main sur leurs femmes, l'un d'entre eux remarque que Franco ressemble de façon frappante au frère du Roi, le comte D'Artois. Franco est donc utilisé pour remplacer le comte à Paris tandis que l'original se rend auprès des Autrichiens dans l'espoir d'obtenir leur aide face à l'insurrection imminente.
