The cinematographer was K. Dhiaber and the story and dialogue were by Shivram Vashikar. The music direction was by Keshavrao Bhole with lyrics written by K. Narayan Kale. The cast included Nalini Tarkhud, Sureshbabu Mane, Kelkar, Rajani, Shantabai and Azurie.
The film was a remake of Shantaram and Dhaiber directed Marathi film Chandrasena of 1931. The story revolves around an episode in Ramayana where Chandrasena, wife of Ahiravan, (Mahiravan’s (brother), helps Hanuman defeat Mahiravana’s army, and in the process free Rama and Lakshmana from Pataal.
Synopsis
Indrajit, brother of Ravana, has Rama and Lakshmana kidnapped by Ahiravan and Mahiravana. Mahi hides them away in Pataal. Hanuman, the monkey-god, goes to their help. He is stopped by Makardhwaja whom he defeats. Makar takes him to Chandrasena, wife of mahi who worships Rama and desires to spend her life with him. With her help, Hanuman manages to defeat the entire army of Mahi and ultimately Mahi himself when he continues to multiply into a vast army. Chandrasena tells Hanuman the secret of destroying Mahi because of which he is able to release Rama and Lakshmana from Pataal.Acteurs

The story is about a reformist king Kantivarma (Varde) who bans the sacrifice of animals and humans. This angers the fanatical Rajguru (Chandra Mohan), head priest of the Chandika cult. The cult meets secretly and the head priest orders the killing of the king. Yashodharma is chosen and though he hesitates, the priest orders him to do so. Yashodharma writes a note for his son before leaving that night telling him of the deed planned by the Rajguru. After the King is killed, Yashodharma (Kulkarni) is betrayed by the Rajguru in court and ordered to be killed. Yashodharma’s two children, Madhavgupt (Mane) and Sumitra (Shanta Apte), are on the run but Madhav is caught and the letter found on him by one of Rajguru’s men. Sumitra is taken prisoner and Rani Mohini (Nalin Tarkhud) who succeeds to the throne after her father’s death is asked to have Madhav sacrificed in the temple by the Rajguru. There is a storm and Mohini and Madhav escape to the forest. Madhav later goes in search of his sister. Vishwasgupt (Kelkar), a trusted minister tells Mohini and the people of Avanti about Rajguru being the real killer. The temple is thronged by townspeople demanding justice and the Rajguru with his obsessive belief in sacrifices offers himself to the goddess and cuts off his own head as a final sacrifice.

Senapati Naagraya(Baburao Pendharkar) rebels against the Raja of Vaijayanti(Shankarrao Bhosale), overthrows his army and kills him, but is unable to stop Rani Veermati(Kamaladevi), who escapes along with her infant son, Sudhirchandra(Master Vinayak). For 19 years she remains in hiding, branding her arm with a burning iron every year. When her son is 20, she asks him to promise to take back Vaijayanti or else she will brand her arm for the 20th time. He promises to punish the tyrant and take charge of this region in 10 days, and accordingly travels there in the company of his friend, Bhairav(Budasaheb). Once there, they prepare to meet with the Minister(Nimbalkar ), who is secretly rebelling against Naagraya. What Sudhirchandra does not know is that Naagraya has decided to wed the Minister's nubile daughter(Leela Pendharkar ), and that she will be involved in snaring him in a deceptive plot to have him arrested, tortured and killed.

The story is about the twelfth of the thirteen years of the Pandavas exile. Draupadi in her identity as Sairandhari (female servant) is acting as the maid-in-waiting to Queen Sudeshna. They are in King Virata's palace in Matsya. Kichaka, King Virata's brother-in-law and Sudeshna's brother is an arrogant man who believes that King Virat rules his kingdom because of him. He sees Sairandhari and orders his sister to send Sairandhari to his palace. When she reaches Keechak's palace Bhima who is disguised as the palace cook, arrives to save her and slays Kichaka.

Shahu Modak plays the role of an honest policeman, Ganpat, who on his beat round meets a prostitute, Maina (Shanta Hublikar). He saves her when there is a police raid on the sex-workers. Over their several meetings he falls in love with her. He attempts Maina's rehabilitation by getting her out of that atmosphere by marrying her. In this endeavour he takes her to meet his mother to get her approval. The social disapproval brings misery. Modak resorts to drinks and descends into alcoholism. Maina is driven by guilt and is unable to bear the jeers and snide remarks. She finally kills her evil uncle and refuses Ganpat's help when arrested.

Mohini a Hindu Punjabi girl, is living with her family when the Partition riots break out. In the melee while her family escape their home, which now becomes part of Pakistan and go to India, she is kidnapped and raped by some Muslim rioters. She sends ammunition to Pakistan smuggled in crates that have music instruments. Mohini soon becomes involved with another refugee, Satish. When Satish is implicated in the smuggling racket, Mohini admits her role in the business and surrenders to the police.

The story is set in a small village in India where the villagers of different communities live in harmony. Pandit (Mazhar Khan) a Hindu, and Mirza (Gajanan Jagirdar) a Muslim, are two old friends who function as the village elders and look out for each other's families. An industrialist, Onkar, arrives to construct a dam in the village. He is opposed by the two friends and the other villagers. Onkar decides to create distrust and disunity between the two communities and friends. When a house is set on fire, Mirza is made to believe it is the work of Pandit and his son. Encouraged by the villagers, he is forced to ex-communicate the two. This causes strife and the dam is constructed. Finally the dam breaks and the two old friends come together again and die in their attempt to save lives.

Shakuntala (Jayshree) is the daughter of sage Vishwamitra and Menaka, but is brought up by the sage Kanva, and stays with him in a forest dwelling. She meets King Dushyanta (Chandra Mohan), when he comes there for a hunt. The two fall in love and get married, with Dushyanta staying with her. Soon he has to leave and he promises to come back for her. Before leaving he gives her a ring as a token of their marriage. Shakuntala passes her days waiting for Dushyanta. She is so lost in his thoughts that she doesn’t hear a sage asking for water. He then leaves her with a curse that the one she is thinking about will forget her. She gives birth to a son, Bharata and several years pass without the return of Dushyanta who has lost his memory and has no recollection of Shakuntala. The ring he has given her is lost in the river and swallowed by a fish. Dushyanta turns her away when Shakuntala goes to the court. Later when Dushyanta recovers his memory Shakuntala refuses to go with him but both are finally united.
