The director studied the transformation of social values using the example of a group of five friends who meet after a long separation and share with each other the details of their difficult lives. The film became the symbol of the 1950s generation and reflected his personal views on the problem of alienation in the modern world. The film was shot in a surreal way with a predilection for the aesthetics of the Marquis de Sade. In it, for the first time in Nikolaidis' filmography, one can see the characteristic elements of film noir which became part and parcel of Nikolaidis' unique approach in the majority of the films that followed. The film follows four men who had been adolescents in the 1950s and are now in their forties. A fifth person, a woman, who has been in and out of psychiatric hospitals due to unspecified disorders, also appears. Efi Papazachariou, who wrote an article about it in World Film Locations: Athens, stated that it is "one of the most unconventional Greek films.
Three construction workers discover an abandoned cave and are promptly attacked by a creature not shown on screen. Afterwards, the population of the city of Athens is turned into zombies, while the last remaining group of people attempt to survive.
The story plays three days later as the first movie, the ancient power transmuted the people in bloody-minded zombies, for over 9000 years the fight was ever between undead and humans, who won by the humans.
Sangeeta Pradhan (Kadambari Kadam), a 22-year-old girl who is about to be married in a month, has been admitted to a reputed private hospital in Pune, but is unwilling to sign the consent form. After talking to resident physician Dr. Smita Deshmukh (Mukta Barve) and psychiatrist Dr. Suren (Amol Kolhe), she is convinced to undergo an exploratory surgery on her ovaries. The surgery is to be performed by senior physician Dr. Khurana (Vikram Gokhale) who is also Dr. Smita's mentor. In the operating theater, Dr. Khurana appears distracted and asks Smita to perform the surgery. On first inspection by pathologist Dr. Kende (Arun Nalawade), one of the ovaries is diagnosed to have borderline malignant carcinoma, and no verdict is passed on the second ovary. Dr. Khurana orders Smita to remove both the ovaries, an order she refuses to comply with citing new research in medical journals. This enrages Dr. Khurana and he orders assistant Dr. Budhkar (Shashank Shende) to complete the surgery.
The film centers around two drag performers: Bibbo, a Bollywood fashion designer, and Shabbo, a dancer, who have a strenuous and often volatile relationship with each other. Though they are known to quarrel often, they are always able to reconcile soon after an argument and prove to the other that they care about them.
The movie deals with Selvam (Kamal), an 18-year-old simpleton who works in a small village. He is sexually harassed by his landlord's sister, a widow. Unable to bear it any longer, Selvam goes to Madras(Chennai). However, he is again harassed in a similar way by people whom he meets. He finds work at a hotel as a room boy where he meets Srividya (Maragadham), a prostitute. He then rescues her once from a raid. After he saves her, she develops a soft spot towards him. He lives in Srividya's house as a servant but later is thrown away from her home. In the end kamal gets affected by an STD and is shown in a hospital being treated by a doctor (Major Sundarrajan) and eventually dies.
Anjalai, a village woman gets married to a drunkard Manickam, with a hope of changing his behavior post marriage. But Manickam continues drinking and goes to a level where he steals Anjalai's jewels before losing his job. During this time, his mother dies in a fire accident after which he vows not to drink anymore. Meanwhile, Manickam falls sick after damaging his liver as a result of excessive drinking. In order to safeguard his life, Anjalai collects money by begging in the streets and donation from the chief minister of the state. Manickam is sent to the United States for treatment. When the couple return to India after Manickam gets cured, he starts drinking again and gets addicted to it. Unable to tolerate his change in behaviour, Anjalai ends her life. This forces all the women in the village join together to protest against alcohol.
Rajaraman, nicknamed "Vasool Raja" (Kamal Haasan) is a local don in Chennai, making a living by collecting money from people who refuse or dilly-dally in paying their debts to others, with the help of his right hand man Vaddi (Prabhu Ganesan). Given that his father had wished him to be a doctor, he creates the faux Venkataraman Charitable Hospital (named after his father) and pretends to live in accordance with this wish whenever his father (Nagesh) and mother Kasturi (Rohini Hattangadi) visit him in Chennai.
Vinod (Mohanlal) becomes mentally ill after his girlfriend Anitha (Lizy) dies because of an electric short circuiting accident during a rock concert. Vinod is admitted into an institution managed by Dr. Ravindran (M. G. Soman).
Mammootty plays journalist Ravishankar who is a victim of blood cancer. The knowledge of his disease and the death on its way hugely disappoints him and he loses all his hope in life. He forces his wife Malini (Gauthami) to get involved with their friend Rajendran (Manoj K Jayan) so that she won't be alone after Ravi's death. Ravi goes back to his village where his cousin, Durga (Shanthii Krishna) who is still unmarried starts taking care of him.
Raghunandan is an ex-Bank of England employee who resigned his lucrative job because he was bored with the rather sedentary and mundane nature of his work. Having lived in different parts of the world as a bank employee, he chose journalism as his next career and worked in different cities in India. He now works for a TV news channel as an interviewer in a popular show named "Show the Spirit". In the mean time, he is in the process of writing an English novel too. He is essentially a loner but is a compulsive alcoholic and has an expensive collection of vintage drinks at home.
Oh-sung, a doctor at a hospice facility, is emotionally scarred by the experience of losing his parents as a child. One night he meets Young-ju, a make-up artist who has been diagnosed with terminal stomach cancer. Despite having very little time together, the two start to develop feelings for each other.
