Two poor sisters (played by top list models My Duyen and Bang Lang), living in a slum area in Ho Chi Minh City, have found a malicious way to get money, usually by acting disabled. At one scene, they manage to trick a guy and put him to sleep and stole all his belongings, which included money. The sisters decided to go out to this fancy restaurant, and soon, met a young owner. The younger sister eventually fall in love with the young owner, even though the two sisters decided to kidnap him for ransom. However, in the end of the movie, karma happened to one of the sisters.

Du's poem was written as an allegory for Vietnam, which has often been possessed and abused by others.

The opening described a series of traumatic events that happened to Lien when she was a young child. Her mother died, her father married the second times to a horrible, wicked woman. The evil stepmother, who is always unconscionably buffeted her step-daughter, tried to sell Lien to a pander. In a hopeless effort to get out of the lost and mourned reality, Lien met up with the Master. Under his tutelage, Lien retrieved hope and regained the pipe dream she'd thought that will never has any chance of being fulfilled.
