Chitti Babu (J. D. Chakravarthy) and Pyarelal (Betha Sudhakar) are roommates in Bombay. With photography as occupation, Chitti Babu is forever prowling the streets with his camera. One day when he comes to the airport to take pictures of a man, and he spots Raga Sudha (Rambha) and falls in love with her at first sight. Bombay (Brahmanandam), who steals a gold chain from a jeweller's, drops it in Raga Sudha's bag while being chased by the police. The film begins with election campaigning in Bobbili Village. Sundaraiyah (Gummadi) and Rajeswari Devi (Vanisree) are strong opponents in elections. Rajeswari Devi and her elder brother Ahobala Rao (Kota Srinivasa Rao) plays a lot of tactics to win the elections. But their younger brother Suryam (Vidya Sagar) supports Sundaraiyah and also loves his daughter Rajyalakshmi (Sumitra) and she becomes pregnant. Everybody dishonors her and Ahobala Rao wants to take an advantage of the situation in the election campaign. When Suryam decides to reveal the truth to everyone, Ahobala Rao tries to stop him, in that quarrel Suryam dies accidentally. Ahobala Rao plays a game and keeps the blame on Sundaraiyah & Rajyalakshmi, both of them are arrested, but somehow they escape from jail and reaches a forest.

Chiranjeevi(Kalyan) is a ruthless rowdy and do gooder. Vijayashanti (Rekha) is the loving daughter of arrogant businesswoman Vanisri (Chamundeswari). Kalyan one day ruins the engagement of Rekha's friend. Rekha later on falls in love with Kalyan as he does the same. Meanwhile her mother Chamundeswari who's an arrogant lady and thug rejects Kalyan's sister love with her son. Later Kalyan come to know Rekha is Chamundeswari daughter and decides to marry her. Chamundeswari takes her daughter to her house as Chiranjeevi enraged bets that he'll marry Vijayashanti. They both have a clash between each other. How this clash ends and how Chiranjeevi wins back Vijayshanthi forms the rest of the story.

One evening, Savitri (Vanisri) notices a refined young man Satyavanta (Krishnam Raju) and falls in love with him. Satyavanta is a prince from another kingdom. Savitri and Satyavanta want to marry, but Narada (Kanta Rao) warns Savitri that Satyavantha will die within a year after their wedding. He suggests that they do not marry. She ignores his advice. Satyavanta loses his kingdom and he, his wife and his parents are forced to live in a forest. On their first anniversary, Satyavanta goes deep into the forest to collect material, unaware of Narada's prediction. Worried about what might happen, Savitri accompanies him, but her husband is accidentally killed. Devastated by his death, Savitri fights Yama (N. T. Rama Rao). After a long struggle, Satyavanta is revealed to be alive.
