Arthur Andrew Kelm, dit Tab Hunter, est un acteur américain né le 11 juillet 1931 à New York (États-Unis) et mort le 8 juillet 2018 à Santa Barbara (Californie).
Alors qu'il est encore enfant, sa mère quitte son père violent et demande le divorce. À 15 ans, il devient garde-côte en mentant sur son âge, avant d'être découvert. C'est là qu'il rencontre Dick Clayton, qui lui suggère d'être acteur et le présente à Henry Wilson, l'agent à la réputation sulfureuse, spécialiste des "beaux garçons" à Hollywood.
Signé chez Warner, il se révèle en 1955, d'abord avec The Sea Chase aux côtés de John Wayne, puis dans le rôle du petit frère de Robert Mitchum dans Track of the Cat. Acteur et chanteur, son titre Young Love sorti en 1957 restera six semaines en tête du Billboard.

And then my Hollywood life, which was just trying to learn my craft and succeed..." The star emphasizes that the word 'gay' "wasn't even around in those days, and if anyone ever confronted me with it, I'd just kinda freak out. I was in total denial. Hunter's autobiography, Tab Hunter Confidential: The Making of a Movie Star (2006), co-written with Eddie Muller, became a New York Times best-seller as did the paperback edition in 2007. The book is still currently in publication and was nominated for several writing awards.
