Satish Kaul (born 8 September 1954), a Kashmiri by birth, is a veteran actor in both Punjabi and Hindi movies. He has acted in over 300 Hindi and Punjabi films and has worked with bollywood actors like Dev Anand, Dilip Kumar, Shahrukh Khan amongst others. His notable film roles include ones in Sassi Punnu, Ishq Nimana, Suhag Chooda and Patola.
Satish Kaul won the ‘lifetime achievement’ award for his contribution to Punjabi cinema at PTC Punjabi Film Awards 2011. Satish Kaul is regarded as one of the most successful regional film actors of all time. Some people still refer him as the ‘Amitabh Bachchan of Punjabi cinema’.

Lalita (Madhuri Dixit) catches the eye of JB (Raj Babbar) and he immediately falls in love with her and decides that he must have her. Her uncle Madhi arranges for them to marry but he is only doing this because JB is paying him to. When she refuses, JB kidnaps her and keeps her in his home until the day of the wedding. She is literally watched over by JB every day in case she tries to escape. On the day of the wedding, Lalita faints and uses this to escape. She also moves her mother away and barely escapes JB who assumes that she has been killed after he saw her being hit by a car. In fact, Lalita swapped her wedding dress with someone else, so the person that JB saw being hit by the car was not Lalita.

Elaan is a declaration of war against the reign of terror unleashed by the ganglords. The story revolves around an upright and principled Police Officer, A.C.P. Ramakant Chaudhary whose eldest son Vikas is killed in a pre-planned accident. But the A.C.P. is unable to nab the culprits for want of valid evidence. Consequently, the A.C.P., his wife Revati and younger son Vishal are griefstricken over the loss of young Vikas. While the atmosphere in the city is already vitiated by the atrocities of ganglords Baba Khan and Manna Shetty who enjoy the support of some unscrupulous police personnel, the A.C.P. vows to make the ruthless gangsters bite the dust, without taking the law in his own hands. On the other hand, Vishal an angry young man, cannot stand this injustice since the police had failed to arrest his brother's killers, and he silently resents his A.C.P father's inaction in dealing with the culprits. The ideologies of the father and son clash – which lead to a conflict between a dutiful father and a reckless son. The only one who understands the agony of Vishal is Mohini, the daughter of head constable Devkinandan Sharma. The day comes when Vishal confronts Baba Khan and Manna Shetty which leads to tension and gory situation for the A.C.P., as the ganglords threaten to eliminate the A.C.P. as well as his wife Revati and son Vishal.

A rich widow Sulakshana Devi (Mala Sinha) lives with her son Ravi (Vijayendra Ghatge) and care-taker Balwant (Prem Chopra). One day, she receives the news that her son has died in a car accident. Meanwhile, a lady named Kamini approaches her and informs her that she is carrying her dead son Ravi's child. Sulakshana does not believe Kamini and turns her away. The film opens in the ruins of Kali Pahari (Black Hills, a decrepit complex of caves), and introduces the vampire Neola. Neola, a Dracula-like vampire, sleeps in a coffin by day, and transforms into a bat at night to hunt humans from the neighbouring villages. He craves a steady supply of human blood, and a supply of fresh young women (so he may seduce them and spread his evil seed). Neola is assisted by a ragtag bunch of servants who lure innocent humans (mostly women) to Kali Pahari so Neola may easily prey on them. His servants include Mahua (a witch-woman), Mahaguru (an evil priest), a tantrik (evil wizard) and various other henchmen that provide muscle for his evil deeds.

Govinda stars as Sagar, a wealthy but idle young man. Following a night of consuming much alcohol he finds a homeless and parentless young boy. He takes the boy home and learns that he is deaf and attempts to nurture him and names him Raja. He tries to get information out of him but does not understand anything. Raja's mother has been brutally murdered (by Anupam Kher and his henchman Ranjit) as she witnesses a murder committed by this pair. Sagar takes Raja out to fairs and adventures and Raja sees Ranjit and tries to tell Sagar that he is the one who murdered his mother. Slowly Sagar understands the tale of the story. He meets a girl Neelam and becomes friends. She takes them to her house. Raja sees a picture of Neelam her father and shockingly his mother. Sagar wants to unfold the mystery of Raja's incident. He finds out that Raja's mother has been murdered. As he is looking for clues, he gets arrested. To prove his innocence the boy takes them to his house where there was a happy family. They take a sniffer dog to find out clues. The dog sniffs the floor outside the house. the men dug it and found a piece of cloth which his mother was wrapped in and buried there.

Army officer Bahadur Singh is recalled to duty on very day his wife gives birth to son Vijay. While way back on duty, Bahadur Singh's village is attacked by decoites, his sister raped and killed. He goes to police to file complaint but shunned by police. Enraged Bahadur Singh takes law in his hand, join gang of bandits led by Daulat Singh and changes his name to Sher Singh. One day Sher Singh is shot by police. Doctor Raghuveer Singh comes to treat him. But Sher Singh thinks that Raghuveer Singh is a policeman and kills Raghuveer Singh. When he realizes his mistake, he repents and surrender to police. Years pass by. Sher Singh's son Vijay grows up and fall in love with Aarti. Aarti is daughter of Mr Chaudhary, alias dacoit Daulat Singh. Son of Doctor Raghuveer Singh becomes police inspector. Suraj has only one mission. Find Sher Singh and kill him to take revenge of his father's murder by Sher Singh. This gives more twists and turns in the story which leads to a dead end with many people to repent.

Radha (Smita Patil) and Ramu (Mithun Chakraborty) are siblings. Their parents Shyam and Sita are singers. Once, Shyam and Sita go to perform in Jalpaiguri to get some money, since they are in a poor status and they have to pay a monthly rent. While performing in Jalpaiguri, Sita catches the eye of a rich and powerful man called A.M. Singh (Amrish Puri). He stops them in the mid way home, kills Shyam and rapes Sita. Radha and Ramu get the news that their parents are dead. The house proprietor banishes them and they become homeless. Years later, Radha and Ramu have achieved success and are popular singers now. Ramu falls in love with Janita (Mandakini) and Radha gets married to Resham (Shakti Kapoor), who is their troupe member. They all sing and perform together. However, Resham becomes different and strange. He comes to abuse Radha. When Ramu comes to know that, he tries to prevent him, but Radha does not allow him to do it. Radha finds out that she is pregnant. She comes to inform her husband and finds him with another woman in their bed. She reacts angrily and Resham beats her in such a cruel way, that she passes away in the hospital. Ramu takes to alcohol in a big way, while Janita who has to perform in Jalpaiguri because of the contract, catches the eye of none other than A.M. Singh. The story repeats and Singh's people stop Janita in the midway home, but surprisingly, Sita, Ramu's mother kills them and rescues Janita. Janita brings Sita and there Ramu meets his mother after 20 years. He recognizes her immediately. Ramu organizes a big concert which will be dedicated to his sister. There, A.M. Singh appears again. Ramu gets who he is and kills him.
