Sam Hennings is an American actor, writer and voice actor. He was born in Georgia with German, English and Scotch-Irish ancestry. Hennings has lived most of his career as an actor and writer in New York City, San Francisco and Los Angeles, Calif.
Hennings has appeared in a wide variety of movies, television shows and stage productions. His works include the film Pawn Shop Chronicles with Matt Dillon, Brendan Fraser and Elijah Wood; co-starred for two seasons with Jason Lee and Alfre Woodard on TNT's series, Memphis Beat; Martin Scorsese's The Aviator, with Leonardo DiCaprio; Havoc with Anne Hathaway; Stolen with Jon Hamm; Ten Tricks with Lea Thompson; Drop Zone with Wesley Snipes; Shout with John Travolta. He starred in The Work and the Glory, 1, 2 and 3; Seasons of the Heart; CBS Movie of the week: Point Last Seen with Linda Hamilton; The Hank Gathers Story with George Kennedy; Gideon Oliver with Lou Gossett and Supernatural as legendary Samuel Colt. Also The Magnificent Seven, 24, CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, CSI: Miami, ER, King Pin, E-Ring, Star Trek: The Next Generation and The Event. Martha and Jed Richards live in Oregon in 1862. They and their two daughters moved there to make a new life, but the daughters died of cholera along the way. The film starts with Peggy Williams's mother talking to her on the phone asking her to start from the beginning of the story. An ambulance rushes to the hospital with the mother of four children. It then goes by the children's apartment to tell them their mother passed away. the four children, Mitch, Kate, Travis, and Lori go to City Hall with their neighbor, Mrs. Forsythe. She tells the judge they have no family and that she is unable to take them in. Mitch tells the judge and Mr. Arnold that they have an Uncle Jack, but they don't believe Mitch and the Judge decides to put them in a foster home until they get adopted. In the foster home a grumpy nurse yells at Travis and Lori for jumping on a bed when Mr. Arnold comes in and tells them that Lori is going to be adopted. Mitch is angry that he didn't tell them they would be split up at makes a plan to run away. They escape to their old home where Mitch collects all the money he can find, (9 dollars), and his Uncle Jack's address, thinking Jack will know where their father is. They also manage to get their dog back. They then get into their mother's old car and drive away, with neighbors spotting them.
