Komal Mahuvakar (also known as Rupini / Roopini / Rubini) is an Indian actress who worked from 1987–1994. She acted in Tamil, Kannada and Malayalam films opposite stars including Mammootty, Rajinikanth, Kamal Hassan, Mohanlal, Sathyaraj, Vijayakanth, Dr.Vishnuvardhan, Ravichandran, Mukesh, Mohan and Ramarajan.

Rupini, originally from Mumbai, moved to the south to act in films after late 1980's. Earlier she acted in few Hindi movies, doing character roles under her real name Komal Mahuvakar. 'Des Pardes', 'Payal Ki Jhankaar', 'Meri Adalat', 'Sanch Ko Aanch Nahin' and 'Nache Mayuri' are some of her films in Hindi.

The story opens with Chakravarthy (Akkineni Nageswara Rao), a millionaire who has everything in his life. He is a successful businessman. He has achieved everything in his life, but he doesn't have a successor to enjoy his wealth. He breaks up his relation with his wife suspecting her to have an affair with his colleague where he was working 20 years ago. During the breakup period, his wife (Srividya) was a pregnant. He repents for losing her and his child. One fine day three people Nandamuri Balakrishna, Roja, Brahmanandam enter into his life saying that they are his children. The remaining story is how Chakravarthy finds out his child from the three with the help of Idea Appa Rao (Nagesh), his personal assistant.

Rajini is working as a coolie in a factory. He is asked by three brothers (Nizhalgal Ravi, Radharavi, S. S. Chandran) to act as a foreign returned rich man the heir of a property. Bandhukkal Sathrukkal is the story of sibling rivalry between Viswabharan (Narendra Prasad) and Damodaran (Thilakan), both money lenders. The story is told by Sakshi(Jagathy Sreekumar) who appears in the scene in key moments and direct the story. Captain Prabhakaran (Vijaykanth) is an IFS officer sent to Sathyamangalam to nab Veerabhadran (Mansoor Ali Khan (actor)) who tortures the people of that place. Prabhakaran is not only going to nab Veerabhadran but also avenge the death of his friend Rajaraman IFS (Sarathkumar) who was a forest officer killed by Veerabhadran. The Police commissioner and the state collector are corrupt and also support Veerabhadran. In the climax, Veerabhadran kidnaps Prabhakaran's wife and son. Prabhakaran arrives at the right time and saves his wife and son. He then nabs Veerabhadran. Ramya Krishnan was Sarathkumar's lover. She dies while giving birth to his child. Veerabhadran is shot dead by the corrupt inspector and collector. Prabhakaran kills both of them. He is then dragged to court for killing police inspector and collector. Prabhakaran tells the truth that they were corrupt and the film ends with Prabhakaran being released from the court.
