Rosa von Praunheim, de son vrai nom Holger Bernhard Bruno Mischwitzky, est un écrivain et réalisateur allemand, né à Riga (Lettonie) le 25 novembre 1942. Il est considéré comme l'un des plus importants cinéastes et activistes LGBTQ au monde.

Biographie

Militant LGBT, il choisit son pseudonyme en référence au triangle rose attribué aux homosexuels par les nazis. Avec entre autres le réalisateur Werner Schroeter, il accompagne le mouvement de libération gay en Allemagne par ses livres et ses courts-métrages (Ce n'est pas l'homosexuel qui est pervers, mais la situation dans laquelle il vit, 1970).

Il réalise de nombreux documentaires sur la culture underground, le mouvement gay, le SIDA et la transidentité. Il a reçu le prix du jury au Teddy Award pour Die Aids Trilogie en 1990.

Il est élu membre de l'Académie des arts de Berlin en 2009. Son compagnon est Oliver Sechting.

Florian est un jeune adolescent qui préfère écouter de la musique disco avec sa mère plutôt que de passer du temps avec son père, dont il n'est pas très proche. The first of the three women portrayed in this documentary is the innovative dancer/mime/choreographer Lotte Goslar (1907-1997), who worked with Mary Wigman in pioneering modern dance, and choreographed productions by Bertolt Brecht. She developed her own style of expressive dance. In 1933 she left Germany and toured in Europe. Disgusted with Germany's Nazism she exiled herself in the United States. In one of her most famous solos, Grandma Always Danced, she was seen, first, as a baby, then as a bride, a mother and as an old woman. Goslar became a popular teacher of mime and body movement for actors. In the late 1940s, she taught in Los Angeles, where one of her pupils was Marilyn Monroe.
