Saira was spotted by Aashiq Abu while shooting for her debut movie Joy Mathew's Shutter. Abu wanted her to cut off her hair to look like the character, but she couldn't as the shoot for Shutter wasn't complete and so she wore a wig.

Sidharth (Indrajith) is the creative head of a prominent advertising agency. He has just been transferred to Kochi from Bangalore. Veena is Siddhu's girlfriend and runs a contemporary dance troupe. Oru Indian pranayakadha is a love story which shows the reletionship between a trickesh person named Aymanam Sidharthan (Fahadh Faasil) and a disciplined canadian citizen of malayali orgin named Irene Gardner (Amala Paul). Protégé of the district president of the party , Uthup Vallikkadan (Innocent), Sidharthan hopes to make it big in politics . This leads the young politician in despair. During this time the girl Irene Gardner visits kerala to shoot a documentary. she is in search of an assistant to help her in shoot the film and approaches Uthup. Uthup requests Sidharthan to meet her and assist her. Sidharthan unwillingly went but when Irene promises ₹2000 per day for the assistant, so Siddharthan, who has financial issues, agrees to help her.

Rasheed (Lal) is an NRI working in the Gulf. He comes to his hometown Kozhikode on a vacation for his daughter's engagement. Rasheed has invested in a commercial property next to his house which he has let out to store owners, except for one room. With the happening of a crime the movie has opened. Then comes an investigation officer Alexander (Sreenivasan), and an assistant (Vinay Forrt). Alexander unlike the assistant, is an officer who doesn't believe in torturing the accused people to prove crimes. He is touted as one of the toughest cops in the service to get deceived. Though he is a man who even fears to witness a live postmortem, he is intelligent enough to prove crimes. He proves this one too without much problems. Parallel to this, we are shown another crime. Harsha Vardhan (Dulquer Salmaan) is a man of mystery. He lives lonely in a big house, and teaches music to one kid. Apart from the role of a mucisian he has one more role to play in life – that of a sadist killer. The film takes a "U" turn post interval, which zoomed in to story that took place four year back. There we can see Harsha as an aspiring young musician. The struggles that he has to face in the initial years of his career are shown here. Not only in his career, but also in his life too he was seen struggling to maintain his relationship with the lover. Then his wife is murdered and how he plans to set revenge on the one who murdered his wife.
