Rita Bhaduri (Bengali: রীতা ভাদুড়ি, Hindi: रीटा भादुड़ी) is an Indian film and now television actress. She initially appeared as supporting actress in various Bollywood films during the 1970s, 1980s, & 1990s. Currently, she works as television actor, playing the role of biji in Bani - Ishq Da Kalma on Colors and in Rishtey. She is most known for films like Sawan Ko Aane Do a 1979 Rajshri Productions film, and Raja (1995) for which she received a Filmfare Award nomination for Best Supporting Actress. She had a supporting role as Julie's best friend in the hit film Julie (1975 film) (1975), where the song "Yeh Ratien Nayi Purani," was picturized on her.
She is from 1973 batch of the Film and Television Institute of India (FTII), Pune and her batch included actress, Zarina Wahab.

The wealthy Malhotra family consists of dad, Vikram, his wife, and son, Raj. They would like Raj to get married to their friend, Ishwarchand Mangatram Gore's only U.S. based daughter, Simran. Pinky (Kajol), charmante jeune fille, et Bunty (Atul Agnihotri), jeune homme plein de vie, sont deux étudiants insouciants. Dès leur rencontre, ils tombent éperdument amoureux l'un de l'autre et envisagent de se marier. Mais leurs familles ne les approuvent pas : en effet, le mariage de Bunty a été arrangé avec Shobha (Ayesha Jhulka), la fille du meilleur ami de ses parents et pareillement, Pinky a été promise par son père (Kulbhushan Kharbanda) à Arjun (Jackie Shroff), officier de police digne de confiance. Pinky et Bunty décident de s'enfuir pour se marier et se rendent chez une tante (Aruna Irani) pour qu'elle les conseille. Celle-ci se rend compte que les sentiments éprouvés par les deux jeunes gens ne sont pas très sincères et juge que leur union serait une erreur. Aussi fait-elle semblant de les approuver mais les guide dans le même sens que leurs familles : elle leur suggère de se marier selon les vœux de leurs parents mais en leur laissant croire qu'ils pourront divorcer afin de se retrouver. Pinky et Bunty suivent ses conseils puis mettent tout en œuvre pour rendre leurs vies conjugales infernales. Leur comédie semble fonctionner jusqu'à ce qu'ils découvrent que Shobha et Arjun se rencontrent en cachette.

After completing his studies in London, Shakti Thakur (Anil Kapoor) returns to the small Indian town where his family resides. Accompanying him is his girlfriend, Anita (Pooja Batra), whom he is in love with and wants to marry, much to the disapproval of his family. After a few days, Shakti starts to feel that nothing much has changed in this part of India and longs to leave. He tells his father that he would like to sell his share in the family land and would open Restaurant business and settle with his girlfriend, to this his Father(Amrish Puri) urges him to stay in the village and uplift it with his education, by saying "A man gets Education not to become a selfish being but to uplift his uneducated brothers and society". Shakti does not agree with his father and decides to leave. He is unable to bear the animosity between the townspeople in general and in particular between his Zamindar dad, Raja Thakur (Amrish Puri), and rival Zamindar Birju (Govind Namdeo), none other than Raja's crippled brother.
