Puri Jagannadh also spelled as Puri Jagannath(born 28 September 1966) is an Indian film director, screenwriter and producer, prominent in Telugu cinema. He is a three-time Nandi Award recipient. He has made many successful films such as Badri, Itlu Sravani Subramanyam, Idiot, Amma Nanna O Tamila Ammayi, Sivamani, Pokiri, Desamuduru, Businessman, Cameraman Gangatho Rambabu and Iddarammayilatho.
He made his Bollywood debut in 2004, with the film Shart: The Challenge. In 2011, he directed Bbuddah... Hoga Terra Baap, which was archived in the Oscar library. He is associated with Vaishno Academy & Puri Jagannadh Touring Talkies, film production houses in South.
Puri Jagannadh's most of the films like Itlu Sravani Subramanyam, Idiot, Amma Nanna O Tamila Ammayi, Pokiri, Neninthe and Golimar were planned with Pawan Kalyan but could not get started due to some unknown reasons. He revealed this in an interview. At last he did a film called Cameraman Ganga Tho Rambabu with Pawan Kalyan after 12 years of long gap.

Biographie
Jagannadh was born into a Telugu family in Pithapuram, East Godavari District of Andhra Pradesh . His native village is Bapiraju Kothapalli, Visakhapatnam District in Andhra Pradesh. He started his career as an assistant director to Ram Gopal Varma for several Telugu films. His Telugu directorial debut Badri was a blockbuster, starring Pawan Kalyan in the lead role, along with Renu Desai, Prakash Raj, Amisha Patel in supporting roles. Mumbai Police commissioner Ajay Bhardwaj announces the end of the "Mafia Raj" in the city, in order to try to bring peace to the city's streets. However, a ruthless south Indian named Vijay Surya comes to the city, aspiring to be the most powerful Mafia Don there. Staying in Dharavi with his friend, he is introduced to a local politician Laalu, who is in trouble and offers him help. He recruits a portion of the gangsters and criminals living in Mumbai led by Naseer to work under him. Surya's henchman Shakeel manages to kill a witness of Laalu's crimes in the jail where he is kept in, winning Laalu's friendship.

Karthik (Naga Chaitanya) is a mechanical engineering graduate but aspires to become a filmmaker. Through his friend, Karthik gets introduced to director Puri Jagannadh. With his support,Karthik family, who are Hindus, rents the ground floor of a two-storeyed house which belongs to the Thekekuttus. The Thekekuttu family is a conservative Malayali Syrian Catholic family from Alappuzha, Kerala, who live upstairs. The Thekekuttus have a daughter, Jessie (Samantha), who is 2 years older to Karthik. When Karthik meets Jessie for the first time, he falls in love with her. Karthik expresses his love one day to her, who is afraid of speaking to men around her strict father, and ends up angering Jessie. The two meet several times afterwards and Jessie begins to admit that she likes Karthik but wants to refrain from any problems because she knows her father won't accept a Hindu marrying their daughter. Her parents learn about their affair and arrange a marriage for her. But at the wedding, she refuses to marry the groom, displeasing everyone in her family. Karthik and Jessie continue to love each other without the knowledge of their parents. Suddenly, Jessie is forced by her father to marry and seeks Karthik's help, who was in Goa for a film shooting. Busy Karthik is unable to attend to her calls and messages; Jessie is unable to reach him. After a tense phone call from Jessie, Karthik goes back one night to check on her. An angry and hurt Jessie makes a final decision to break up with Karthik because of her father's strong disapproval of their love.

Daya is an orphan who grows up learning that a police's life is a happy one with lots of money coming in the form of bribes which inspires him to become a police officer. After years, he becomes a corrupt, cunning, manipulative and ruthless sub inspector of police. He is transferred to Vishakhapatnam where he forms an immediate friendship with the local don Waltair Vasu by releasing his four brothers Ravi, Mani, Varun and Sundeep from the jail who were arrested for smuggling. The film starts in Goa with the henchmen of Don Makrand Kamati (Vikramjeet Virk) kidnapping a girl at the beach and turning her into a slave for sale after injecting drugs into her. When police officer Madhusudhan (Devan) catches the slaves and drugs racket, Makarand and his henchman (Ajaz Khan) interfere him while speaking to the Media. They injure the honest Madhusudhan and turn him an immobile person. Thus their trade continues. The film then shifts to a time a year later where Varun (Nithiin) is shown roaming in the locales of Spain. Varun is a hippie kind of vagabond wandering all over the world. He lost his parents in his childhood when he was at America. Calling himself a free soul, he never believes in relationships and earns his living by working in part-time jobs he finds in Craigslist and rests at nights on the roads with some kitchen equipment to cook food. Now he is in Spain and there he comes across Hayathi (Adah Sharma), an Indian who arrived to Spain to meet her friend Priya (Kesha Khambati).

Corrupt Central Minister (Rao Ramesh), is facing accusations over possessing black money of one hundred thousand crore, and money laundering it into Europe, through his un-suspecting daughter, Akanksha (Catherine Tresa), a psychology student who goes to Barcelona to pursue higher education.
