Neravanda Chengappa Prema (born 6 January 1977), known popularly as Prema, is an Indian film actress. She has worked as a lead actress in numerous Kannada and Telugu films besides working in a few Tamil and Malayalam films. She has appeared in many commercially successful and critically acclaimed feature films. She received the Karnataka State Film Award and Filmfare Best Actress awards for her performances in Kannada films. She has featured in Om and Yajamana, which are the two major blockbuster and highest grossing films of their time in Kannada Cinema.
She has shared screen space with Vishnuvardhan,Mohanlal, Venkatesh, Jagapati Babu, Mohan Babu, Krishna, Shivrajkumar, V. Ravichandran, Upendra, Saikumar, and Ramesh Aravind . She has also starred opposite many actors in her career spanning over two decades.

Biographie
Prema was born on 6 January 1977 into Neravanda family, of the Kodava community to Chengappa and Kavery, in Bangalore. She received high school education in Mahila Seva Samaja High School and completed her Pre-university course in SSMRV college, Bangalore. As a student she was involved actively in sports and represented her school and college in high jump and volleyball events at the national level. Her younger brother N. C. A mentally unstable pregnant woman runs inside a temple and closes the door. She gives birth to a boy at the feet of Lord Krishna’s idol and breathes her last. The doors of the temple are closed, as people believe that the birth of such a woman's child in 'garbhagudi' is a bad omen. The boy, named Arjun (Manchu Vishnu), grows up under the guardianship of his grandmother (Manorama). He goes to work as a bodyguard to Satya (Mamta Mohandas), the sister of landlord Pedababu (Nassar). Arjun and his grandmother live in the outhouse of Pedababu’s bungalow. Arjun is ill-treated by everyone. When an astrologer says that Satya’s first husband will be killed and she will live happily with her second husband, Pedababu plans to get Satya married to Arjun first. Then, he conspires to kill him and get Satya married to a rich man. However, Lord Krishna (Nagarjuna Akkineni) comes to Arjun's assistance. Arjun gains some powers from his companionship with the Lord and overcomes the evils that threaten his peace and family life. He also succeeds in reopening the doors of the temple. Arjun then dies by jumping off a tall building because of his faith in Lord Krishna who revives him a minute after his death. The film ends on a happy note.

Her father's opponent Kota (Kota Srinivasa Rao) who is also an aspiring candidate for the Chief Minister post and his mates provide the comedy and political satire. As expected she succeeds in reuniting the family and exposing the villains .Music with lyrics reminding one of the tribal idiom is a treat.The visuals with the rustic outdoor and the heavily ornate interiors of a feudal gentry, have the stamp of Bapu.

The movie begins with a voice explaining the submersion of Dwaraka village in the sea because of a huge Tsunami, then jumps to 5000 years ahead and starts with Krishna (Venkatesh), doing pranks in Bombay and earn living with petty thefts. Satyavathi (Anjala Zaveri) is a foreign returned girl and she comes to know that her elder sister Karuna (Soundarya) got married to an archaeologist when she visits the archaeological site of Dwaraka. Satyavathi decides to visit Dwaraka to meet her sister. As Satyavathi comes out of the airport of Bombay to go to Dwaraka, Krishna meets her as the taxi driver of Satyavathi hired thinking that she has valuable diamonds with her. On the way, he realizes that she is not the one who was supposed to have carried diamonds and decides to dump her and come back to Bombay. But the destiny has other plans.This makes Krishna goes to Dwaraka. There he gets chased by some baddies after eating in a hotel.After escaping the baddies, he meets up with a cute little friend called Papa. She has mystical powers, she knows that he had fallen in love with Satyavathi and asks him to tell that to her. One day, Sathya tells Krishna about her sister after she is saved by Krishna, he tells Sathya that he will find the mystery of her sister's missing. Things turn spooky when he enters her sister's house. Suddenly, Papa, the cute little girl whom he had met before appears in front of him, she tells him about the history and mystery of the house.
