Lors d'une mission d'exploration en Antarctique, une équipe de scientifiques découvrent d'étranges plantes, véritables fossiles vivants. Plusieurs spécimens de la faune et de cette étrange flore sont chargés à bord de l'avion qui doit les ramener aux USA pour y être étudiés. Mais avant d'arriver à destination l'avion doit faire escale à Gow Island, petite station météorologique pour faire le plein. Lorsque celui-ci se pose en catastrophe sur le tarmac, il ne reste plus que le pilote en état de choc, et la cargaison dans la soute. Le lieutenant Charlie Brown qui vient de prendre le commandement de l'île va devoir résoudre ce mystère, mais il va aussi devoir faire face à un autre problème, les plantes ramenées sur l'île s'avèrent terriblement dangereuses, mortelles.

The story is about Peter Gifford, a teacher who wants to teach high school students to think for themselves and express themselves. A female student pushes to have open classroom discussion about the physical and emotional issues associated with teenage relationships and sex. This issue gets blown out of proportion by parents who don't have the facts and jump to ill-informed conclusions, demanding sanctions against the mostly innocent teacher, who keeps still on the matter to protect the involved students. The entire student body rallies in a Gandhiesque silent protest that helps everyone learn to appreciate the truth of the matter.

Ces derniers se retrouvent chez Laura pour la nuit et y sont assassinés par l'inconnu qui s'enfuit alors qu'Hélène regagne la pension de famille. Intriguée par le chien de Laura qui est sorti, elle entre chez celle-ci, découvre les corps mais n'appelle pas la police.

Pat Marvin (Nancy Kelly) is a small town photographer from Iowa Falls who gets a job offer in New York City for a magazine. She was hired due to a misunderstanding from the magazine's publisher, and sports fanatic James R. Tarlock (Richard Gaines) that she was a man. Larry Burke (Chester Morris), the magazine's editor, is thrilled that his new co-worker is a female, and takes an immediate interest in her. Pat's boyfriend Ben Scribner (Phillip Terry) is less enthusiastic about the girl who he is intending on marrying, leaving him for a job in the big city, and goes as far as following her to make sure that she is not unfaithful to him. Pat, meanwhile, quickly impresses Larry by providing him photographs of Dolores Tucker (Jane Farrar), as she is lying on the ground in a restaurant's toilet after a failed suicide attempt. The publishing of the photo unleashes some controversy, because Dolores is the estranged wife of millionaire Sonny Tucker (Charles Arnt). To deliver him a successful follow-up, Pat travels to Sonny's apartment to photograph him, and disguises herself as a chorus girl to seek entrance. Inside, she quickly flatters him, enabling herself to take as many photos as she wants. Dolores walks in minutes later, and grows convinced that Pat is Sonny's mistress.

The story begins as Frankie Foster (Anne Shirley) leaves home for Manhattan after graduating high school. With little money and no prospects, Frankie is just about to move back home when she meets Stanley Benson (Dennis Day) at a diner where Frankie has been washing dishes. Stanley asks Frankie out for dinner and a movie and convinces her to stay in Manhattan and take some classes at the local community college. Frankie tells Stanley that she is broke, and he suggests a way she can earn some extra money. She doesn't like the tone of Stanley's voice, but she is broke and has little choice, so she follows Stanley to his friend Johnny Pearson's place (played by Phillip Terry). Johnny calls himself a manager, but Frankie immediately knows he is truly a pimp. He offers her an opportunity to earn some money and even gives her a room she can live in. Frankie wants to tell him where to go, but she is broke so she moves in to Johnny's apartment building and begins sleeping with men, for money, during the nights, and working with Johnny's mother, Mrs. Pearson (Jane Darwell) during the day in the family's bakery, which is nothing more than a cover business for tax purposes.
