Penny Irving (born 1955 in Hitchin, Hertfordshire, England) is a former actress and Sun newspaper Page 3 model. She is remembered for her roles in the 1970s sitcom Are You Being Served? (which she starred in as Miss Bakewell between 1976 and 1979) and in the movie adaptation of The Likely Lads (playing the role of Sandy).
Penny also starred in the cult director Pete Walker's 1974 film House of Whipcord, and would later appear in his 1978 film The Comeback.
As a model, she appeared on the front cover of the compilation LP 'Top of the Pops, Volume 27', which was released in Autumn 1972. She was featured in Mayfair Magazine in December 1972 (Volume 7, Number 12), and for a second time in May 1975 (Volume 10, Number 5). Penny also appeared in Club International in 1980 (Volume 9, Number 10).
Her other TV credits include The Benny Hill Show. The Two Ronnies and Hi-de-Hi!, among many others. She was a hostess on the game show Mr & Mrs in the 1970s. She also played a role in Carry On Dick. She is now retired from acting and currently lives in London.

The clothing department's floor requires renovation; rather than let the staff sit idle while the area is closed off, the management sends them on a paid holiday in Costa Plonka, a fictional city in Spain. Their hotel and its surroundings prove to be dismal, and the group tries to pass the time by acting on the crushes they have developed for one another in the workplace. This results in disaster, as multiple amorous notes reach the wrong recipients and everyone gets wrong ideas about who fancies whom.

In the year 1750, England is rife with crime and highway robbers. To stop the wave of chaos, King George sets up the first professional police force named the Bow Street Runners, under the command of the bellowing Sir Roger Daley (Bernard Bresslaw), and seconded by Captain Desmond Fancey (Kenneth Williams) and Sergeant Jock Strapp (Jack Douglas). The Runners are apparently successful in wiping out crime and lawlessness – using all manner of traps and tricks to round the criminals up. However their main target is the notorious Richard "Big Dick" Turpin (Sid James), a highwayman who has evaded capture and succeeded in even robbing Sir Roger and his prim wife (Margaret Nolan) of their money and clothing. After this humiliation, Turpin becomes the Bow Street Runners' most wanted man, and thus Captain Fancey is assigned to go undercover and catch the famous Dick Turpin and bring him to justice.

Jeune mannequin français vivant à Londres, Anne-Marie est séduite par un inconnu, Mark, lors d'une soirée donnée en son honneur dans une galerie. Humiliée par son petit ami photographe, Tony, qui a exposé une photo d'elle nue lors d'une arrestation de police, elle accepte de passer le week-end à la campagne avec Mark pour fuir le probable scandale. Mais elle est découvre trop tard qu'il est l’appât de sa mère, une certaine Margaret Wakehurst, et qu'elle est tombée dans un piège diabolique. Leur grande maison familiale n'est qu'une ancienne prison abandonnée dirigée par la directrice Wakehurt, son mari Desmond Bailey, un vieux juge aveugle et gâteux, et leurs deux gardiennes. Anne-Marie est aussitôt emprisonnée dans cet institut de rééducation morale et religieuse pour être condamnée, comme d'autres jeunes filles piégées par Mark, à se laver de ses péchés à travers divers tortures et punitions. Mais ce retour à l'ordre moral et à la civilisation n'est qu'un prétexte pour madame Wakehurst pour torturer puis tuer ses prisonnières. Avant la naissance de Mark, elle dirigea une maison de redressement pour jeunes filles et elle fut accusée, à cause de sa sévérité et son autoritarisme, d'avoir provoqué la mort de l'une d'entre elles. Perverse, elle l'a tuée avant de maquiller son meurtre en suicide. Lors de son procès, elle a séduit le juge Desmond Bailey, qui l'acquitta faute de preuves, et ce dernier est devenu le père biologique de leur enfant, Mark. Margaret s'est ensuite installée dans une prison désaffectée pour installer sa demeure et son institut personnel pour femmes immorales et impures à ses yeux.
