Bravo, My Life! opens in October 1979 with the news of President Park Chung-hee's assassination. But for 14-year-old Gwang-ho, it is more importantly his first day at junior high, where the kids are interested in football and brawling. Gwang-ho's mother, Mal-soon, whose husband is working in Saudi Arabia, devotes everything to her children. Despite a nagging illness, Mal-soon wears heavy make-up as she sells cosmetics door-to-door. Meanwhile, as his sexual awareness increases, Gwang-ho turns his attention and affection to their pretty neighbor Eun-sook, an assistant nurse who is the complete opposite of Gwang-ho's mother. One day, Gwang-ho receives a "good-luck letter." The letter states that unless he immediately writes and sends the same letter to someone else, he will be faced with bad luck. He starts sending it to people around him, but as those people start vanishing, Gwang-ho is racked with guilt, suspecting the letter of luck is the cause of their disappearance.

Bong-soo (Sol Kyung-Gu) has been working as manager of a small bank in an apartment complex for three years. During his three years there, 23 years if you count his school days, Bong-soo has never been late. However, he purposely decides to skip work one day. There is only one reason. Inside a subway train that has suddenly stopped on his way to work, everyone around him reaches for their cell phones to call someone. At that moment, he realized that he does not have a single person to call. He does not know that inside the educational center across the street from the bank where he works, a 27-year-old woman Won-ju (Jeon Do-Yeon) is looking over to him, nourishing a small love. En 1950, durant la guerre de Corée, un pilote de l'US Navy s'écrase dans les montagnes coréennes. Il est secouru et soigné par les habitants d'un village reculé de la civilisation, appelé Dongmakgol. Pendant ce temps, des troupes sud-coréennes et nord-coréennes s'affrontent non loin de là. C'est ainsi qu'un groupe de 3 soldats nord-coréens et un autre de deux soldats sud-coréens se rencontrent dans ce village. Après un premier contact plutôt explosif, ils vont commencer à cohabiter et participer aux récoltes de ce village où les habitants ne semblent pas concernés par le conflit qui fait rage autour d'eux.
